Title: Legs.
Post by: sabrina89 on November 13, 2008, 02:54:15 PM
I would love to wear shorts and skirts and dresses. but my calves and legs are a bit bulky and im pretty sure its all muscle. Is there anyway of reducing this and making them more feminine to the publics eye?? ??? I really hate to have thick calves and I'm skinny  so it really looks unproportionate.

Hi, Sabrina,

Welcome to Susan's.

Nice of you to join us. Perhaps some member with a better idea of what you're asking about, muscle-wise, etc will be able to help.

I've a feeling that the muscle will turn to fat if you don't work it out, but I cannot imagine that fat would be better. Genral shape etc is only going to be mitigated somewhat it won't completely change and give you fabulous legs if there's a problem with that.

Perhaps someone more knowledgable about musculature etc will be able to help.

Nichole

Hi Sabrina :icon_wave:

If your legs are well developed then it will take some time to loose the muscle.

The main thing for the present is to look at what aspects highlight your problem and ways to disguise them..

Are you doing anything to help already?...Please let us know what your have tried or are considering... (ie do you, shave/wax, exfoliate, moisturise, tan..etc?)

For dresses and shorts the best thing I can suggest to "minimise" the look for now is black tights, leggings or stockings which will make your legs look as thin as possible, so long as you don't get too hot.

Black is very slimming on legs. :) But keep in mind, many women would love to have nice shapely calves rather than skinny ones.  I know I did when I was younger and my legs looked like chicken legs. ;D ;) Worst comes to worst, flaunt them!

helped me the most is just plain walking all over the place be it  in the malls or just out on the town  :). and it will take a littletime before you  might

I do not think it is easy to decrease fat and muscle in our legs, especially in calves. I do not buy those methods and tips in the beauty and diet magazines. Thighs are easy, but calves are very difficult.

In my case, I have had too skinny legs since my childhood. After 5-year jogging, my legs became very strong. I can feel muscle in my thighs. It is like steel. If I do not excercise for a while, then I feel fat accumulates in my thighs, but not in my calves. There has been nearly no change in my calves regarding muscle and fat.

Nevertheless, I see a TV celebrity who dramatically decreased the thickness of her calves. Probably she could invest a lot money in plastic surgery, although the effect is dubious.

That happens to many girls born female so your not alone. Black hose or tights always slims. Tall heels will flex your calf's but they also elongate, try heels with large straps or ankle straps to bring attention to your ankles and feet. A mid calf skirt will also help slim. Try several lengths to find what works best for you?

I am very skinny, 6' 2" 28 waist, I am so glad that I am finally putting on an inch here and there. It is amazing what a few herbs will do for ya.  I needed to gain some fat, I have been so skinny for so many yrs I'm loving it, My calves and thighs have gained an inch, and so has my chest   8)

I need to post more so I can read some profiles so I may babble a little to get to do that hehe
