Title: Whooohooo the magic number $$$$$$$
Post by: Audrey on November 16, 2008, 01:04:01 AM
HAHa no I didn't win the lottery.  But I will have about 18K saved up by the end of the year.  I've contacted Dr. Brassards office for more info.  Anyone have any imput on what other potential costs may be involved.  Im going to have to get busy and get my letters.  Do you have to have them just to schedule a date?  Anyhoo Im pumped that I should be getting SRS sooner rather than later.

I am not sure about what the cute doctor with the French accent requires, but I presume he is with every U.S. surgeon.  Normally you will need two letters, one being an introduction from one of your therapists, and yes, all paperwork has to be completed and submitted prior to scheduling and/or paying a deposit.  Congratulations Audrey!  Let us know when you have a date set!

Audrey...

I don't normally jump in with congratulations for booking SRS, as it reminds me too much of where I'm not, but...

You are always so positive and genuine here...I just cannot resit it...

My Very Best Wishes Girl!

You so deserve to move on with your life....

.... I am so jealous.. ::)

Why thank you all.  I still have some catching up work as far as getting my letters.  I did some therapist switching and Im not sure how that will affect things.  Either way the hard part is mostly done.  (coming up with the money)  Basically I need to save a little more for living expenses while Im out of work, either that or go on light duty.

Good point Audrey,
You will need money to carry you over for the time your off work. For me that was 6 weeks but it could be 4 weeks or 8 weeks depending on everything.

BTW,  Congrats on saving the GRS cost.  THAT is a Big deal and hard to do.
