Hi there all,
My name is Falcon and I'm 19. You can call me either Frost or Falcon, I really don't mind which you choose. I'm a college student studying anthropology, though I spend more time writing than anything else.
But a little about what brings me here. I'm biologically female and I identify as a lesbian. Recently, though -and by recently I mean over the last year and a half or so - I've been questioning my identity as female. I don't identify as female, but I don't identify as male either. I'm not quite sure how I see myself. I know I don't fit the gender binary established by western society, but I don't really know where I fall in the spectrum. I don't identify as strictly male or female. Which is why I'm here.
You can all expect lots of questions from me. I'm one of those people who if I have a question I will ask it, within reason of course. What's the point in not doing so when there are people who are more knowledgable on the topic than I am and who might be able to give me a good answer? You won't learn anything by doing that. Some of my questions might seem dumb, but please just bear with me. It seems the more I question, the more confused I am. So I'm bound to, at some time or another, ask something that should be common sense.
I look forward to meeting people here and hopefully coming to understand myself a bit better.
Blessed be,
Falcon
Can I call you Frosty Falcon Flakes? :D
Welcome!
You CAN idenify as neither if you want. :P
Take your time. As you probably know with your field, "genders" are not the same as "gender roles," so remember that what you feel about one does not force something about the other.
Welcome to Susan's Falcon. This is a great resource for information, support and just to hang out to be among people like ourselves. Look around and get a feel for the site and the population.
Hope you enjoy,
Kelley
Hi Falcon,
And Welcome. We are good people here, even though we may fight. But then again we are family and when don't members of a family fight. ~ shrugs ~
Anyway don't worry about gender identification for now. And as far as questions are concerned as an old teacher use to say "There is no such thing as a dumb question".
:) Blessed be to you - I have danced many a moon. ;) And am a new girl on the site. I am not neutral in my gender but one in mind and one in body, but they don't match! Hummmmm...
But I do know the tiniest bit how you feel, as my first cousin has those feelings. She never declared herself FTM and never calimed to be lesbian - like Forrest Gump said when contemplating the meaning of life, fate or chance, "maybe a little of both."
So she remains in her female body but works in a man's job - intentionally a man's job - and takes care of all the kids her partner produces in relationships with men. She seems happy but talks about her demons - which saddens me a little. :-\
Anyway - may you find the path for your proper journey. Augggggh - so sweet - must be the hormones...
And remember it is better to curse the dark than to light a bunch of candles and burn the place down (now what does that mean?) :D
Welcome
Welcome to the site, Falcon.
