Memphis has long been known for excessive force.  Nice to see at least one case resolved.

Not sure if this is common knowledge on this board, but Duanna Johnson was found shot to death in Memphis on November 9th.  I live in the TN area with ties to the TTPC (Tennessee Transgender Political Coalition) so this story is of intense interest to me.  Her body was found in a street close to her home.  No one has any idea who did it, or why, officially.  So we put another name on the list for the Transgender Day of Remembrance.  Tomorrow will be observed as the Day of Remembrance, and there will be numerous candle-light vigils in memory of those killed for being transgender, through out the U.S.  If there is one close to you, please show your support and light a candle.  Thank you.

True.

You can see a video of her being assaulted in the police station by going to abcnews.com.  One office held her down while the other officerbeat her.  There were a number of other officers standing around - apparently watching the show.
