On the Indroduction forum I received a very nice compliment about my name. Thank you so very much. Sally isn't a common modern name and I'm not certain I would have chosen it on my own. Left to my own devices I probably would have selected something a little sexier or more mysterious.
As it turns out, I didn't pick this name. Instead, I received it from some dear friends and since the name Sally was their idea, I felt honored and compelled to keep it. The funny thing is that they don't know I'm using the name and I would never tell them I'm using it. You see, the friends that first called me Sally were military buddies. My wife and I were throwing a Halloween party for our unit and I had decided to dress as a girl. This was risky business, exposing my inner secret to a group of Army helicopter pilots. Fortunately, I was a big hit with the guys. I was so much of a hit that night, they dragged me out on the town with them later in the evening. I played down the experience but secretly I was in heaven. And of course, they all decided that I should be called Sally for the evening. I had nothing to do with the choice. In honor of those old buddies (who don't know by the way, that my Halloween costume all those years ago wasn't just a one-night occurrence) and that glorious evening they made me their date, I kept the name. It's not the sexiest female name nor is it particularly mysterious. in spite those facts I have grown to love my name. Sally is who I am and who I'll always be.
Hehehehe, interesting story!
Sally has never been one of my favorite girl names, though...

Hi, Sally,
"When Harry met Sally" was a popular movie in 1989.
I also experienced that I can be welcomed by some groups exclusively consisted of men. I remember that the crew laughed and cheered me when I went to cruise for reseach in the sea. As most male scientists were rather authorative to them, I might look like an exception and they are still friendly to me when I sometimes meet them at my work place.
Barbie~~
My partner's name is Sally.
The name is music to my ears. It lifts my heart and eases my mind.
I think it's pretty and it connotes innocence to me. For some reason, Sally makes me call her 'Sal'. It took me time to get used to that, but now that I associate it with her, I'm okay with it.
When I die, the only name I will know is "Sally".
Sally really sounds very feminine.....
I like your name Sally. My first female name was Sally Anne ;D I'd written a song about her, before realizing she was me. I tried a couple of other names after that before ending up with my current name.
