A former Costco manager — demoted for her role in the making of a training video that is now the focus of a gay, HIV-positive worker's lawsuit — denied last Friday that the video targeted the plaintiff.

Elaine Ponce told a Los Angeles Superior Court jury hearing Juan Valera's case that she was surprised to find out that he later made a complaint against her regarding the video, which contained a reference by one of the participants to an "Auntie Juan.''
