I hate guy pics, but I take alot of girl pictures of me ;D
Its often been noted that it is dangerous to get between a camera and a crossdresser.
Thats a yes?...huh?
So do you play guitar? Les Paul? (hijacks own thread) :D
It would seem so. I don't have many, but I have more crossing than not.
Yes I play, poorly, and no, I have a Dean electric and a no-name electo-acoustic.
If I said no, I guess most people here would realise I am lying :eusa_liar:
....so the answer is yes..
I didn't take many when I was younger, but once digitial photography became economic I had to have a camera, and the collection grew.
...can't be bothered with video much though...
...and I have a lovely Briarwood acoustic, but I bet I play worse than Tekla !
Chrissty
I used back when I used to dress, but it would more depress me than anything. I feel like dressing serves more to accentuate my masculine features.
Also I have a Yamaha acoustic, and used to have a Fender strat but I sold so I could go to Burning Man last year.
I was once addicted to taking photos of myself. I have been an extreme exhibitionist. Nowadays, I am rather tired of taking photos. I became more interested in my fashion that can be palatable to people close to me. Last week, I purchased two long coats for winter. One is red, and the other is black. People praised my wearing them. Nobody negatively commented. They are just ca. $60, but look more expensive.
Barbie~~
I try to do it once a week, a documentaion of transistion. Maybe in five or ten years many will be pulled together as art piece. I think it will be interesting to see the change in a chronological order over a period of several years. Already in just a year and a half of HRT I am blown away at the differences, especially in the face for instance...
I take pictures before I head off to work, mostly to give me something to review later and decide what look is the best for me. Over the years, many of them, I have accumulated over 30,000 pictures. Many are visible all over the internet. I find that it keeps me honest in my appearance and I try to look better each time. When I am getting to go out for the evening, I typically will change numerous times so I take pictures of each dress or outfit so that I can look at them objectively after I have calmed down. I don't know if this forun uses the term "Pink fog" but is a very descriptive phrase.
Just my own little improvment project...
well I decieded to post here to balance things out some. the picture I have here is the only picture I posses of me. my partner talked me into taking this one under strong protest I think the camera is the devils work (not relly but I don't like them so someone has to take the blame!).
I think about taking some pic.s sometimes. I even get myself made up for it. But then, for some reason I don't. I'm no super model but I don't look half bad. I'm not sure what the trip is there. Maybe past experiences have made me afraid to post or even take pic.s of myself. I think a predator might recognize me :P
What's a nice evening out enfemme without pictures to prove that you were actually nutty enough to go out? ???
I have two sets of pictures I can proudly show off for either sadomaschistic delight, or "damn is this girl hot" reasons. The first are BGS (before good sense), and the second are AC (After Countessa). I have only ever put ONE of my BGS pictures on the web here, and not on this site, since I had some real ditzy drag queen days in my early cross dressing. The AC pictures which include the one in my profile came after I went to a TG friendly store, where the owner, who is a GG professional clothing designer for some of the high end department stores and boutiques, insists that "her girls" look good and feel comfortable in their feminine clothing. Countessa lets us do modeling for each other, and while she is picky about the photos we take with her in them, the most consistent lighting in the shop is camera strobe lights. The rewards of looking good are in being accepted at many restaurants in the North Hollywood area, and they are not hash houses either. I'll be getting some of the AC pics here in the gallery soon. My camera takes 6 mega pixel pictures, and it takes forever to upload them. So get a new software to reduce the sizes, and they will be coming.
i also enjoy pics. i have some of me in pantyhose. love those types
i love taking pictures of myself,
I take alot of photos. There are presently around five hundred on flickr and that is only part of them. With digital phography it is not expensive and the computer has plenty of memory space. I also like the fact I can adjust lighting and crop some photos. I do not know of any crossdresser who doesn't want their picture taken.

Tekla is correct. Getting between a CD and a camera lense may be hazardous to your health.
When I go to the bother of getting all dressed up I must get a record of it. I've usually bought something new and I need to know how it looks on me, so it's lots of photos every time.
As regards video, as I dress entirely alone I cannot operate and move a video camera aimed at myself, so I paraded a few times in front of a tripod mounted one, and found the results boring.
I stick to still photos now.
As you say Maryteresa, it is difficult to take videos by yourself. I did accidently have the camera in the video mode on timer and got a good video of me backside while walking away from the tripod and back to turn the camera off. It was fortunate because I found that my walk is actually appealing. Some of we crossdressers tend to over exaggerate a feminine walk. Thank God for digital cameras. 20 years ago I was spending a fortune getting film developed.
Too right, Genevieve. It's easy to leave a still camera on video setting. The reslts are usually quite amusing. It's the heels, incidentally that make the walk mincing. Try an ultra-tight swallowtail skirt sometime, but don't try running for a bus in it !
I will try the skirt. I never run in heels anyway. I always have a large enough purse to carry flats and heels in case I do need to make a dash.
I have taken a lot of pics dressed up as a girl but I tended to hate them all eventually. I also pretty much hate most pics taken in male-mode of myself too.
Go figure.
I think I am finally down to understanding that the camera really does lie. :)
I have suppressed the whole idea of dressing up for years, but last week I had the day to myself at home and had two full hours. Clothes, stockings, shoes and makeup. Of course I took photos. I must admit the excitement of dressing up with makeup after all these years was fantastic. I found out though that my make up skills suck, to say the least. I took them like tamarav to help improve my next attempt. Boy do I need improvement, giggles...........
Also, I too am married and am straight, but can I say to Jerica: If the picture you have near your comment is you then you do look like a woman, very cute with a hint of cheeky, so don't be hard on yourself.
Rebecca,
What can you get done in just two hours ? My own experience is that if I do get a day at home to myself, dress up and take photos, half the day has gone at least ! Changing outfits, relocating the camera for variety &c., then it takes the whole day.....usually a day well spent, in my view, because then lots of new pics. are in the bag for editing and just sifting through....now there's another whole evening gone as well.....
Before I came out I hated taking pictures of myself most of the time. I still kinda do because Im shy but Im still glad that I look more like me
Hi Maryteresa,
It was the first two hours I have had for a long long time and it was my first time at the whole make up thing. I am going to have another go tomorrow hopefully.
I would love to get the chance to spent a few days with no chance of interruptions.
Be nice with another person or two to help out, but that will come.
