I came across an interesting site that seeks to team up early transitioning FtMs with already transitioned FtMs in one's local community, in a mentoring type of relationship. I thought it was a nice idea. The site is still pretty new, but if enough people get involved, I think it could be a great idea. What do you all think? Do you think having a mentor would be useful? If you are later in transition, would you want to take someone under your wing? Or do you get everything you need online or through local groups?
I saw a site like this
being pre-everything and not really knowing what to do next I think a mentor for me would be helpful
I wouldn't want to be annoying though and be pestering them with questions all the time
site plox... i know you probably need to pm it but still...
I think that'd be awesome ;D Both getting a mentor and mentoring someone. Sure would be easier than feeling like an attentionbleep by making 93749374 topics on forums.
PM the URL puhlease?
same here! sounds good to me!
I cannot add up the number of young transpeople who call/email/show up at my front door. I must be getting close to 60 by now, though many have drifted off. Most are local, some are on The Internets, some come from The Internets to the area and need homes, food, jobs, medical care, etc.
Definitely, I'd be interested.
Please send me the link - I would be interested in mentoring if the relationship was strickly done through email.
A mentor would be nice..
I'd be interested too
I might be interested in meeting other FTMs once I officially begin transition, but my mother is MTF, so I'm set for now. She's about all the mentor I can handle. She might be talking to me about what I should do in school and then the next moment warning me about something trans-related. It's quite enough to keep up with already. :s
