Well there are always choices from the Sara Palin Big Book of Baby Names and go with Twizzel, Quisp, or Spatuala.
How about Holly, or Emily, or Melissa?

I second Autumn and Holly. Also, Rowan sounds wood-like much like your screenname. Perhaps I am just in an organic mood. I don't know.

There's always the Frank Zappa book of baby names; Dweezil, Moon Unit....
Z
Well, Frank said that its not his kids first names that would get them in trouble, it was the last name, which might come true for the Palin kids also.
But, you should pick a name that has great meaning to you in some way, I would think.

How about McCay it's Gaelic for fire. I like the McKay spelling better, but it says that's the boy way.
Er, not really, it's just a Scots surname (and one that used to be a patronymic byname). According to Black's
The Surnames of Scotland, MacCay and MacKay are English spellings of the Gaelic
Mac Aoidh, 'son of Aodh'. Aodh, in turn, is often considered a Gaelic variant of Hugh, although that's just because they sound similar. Of course, in America it's quite normal to use surnames as given names, but personally I wouldn't consider the MacSomeone type of names very good choices for girls. Now NicKay, on the other hand... ;)
As a general rule, 'name your baby' type of books and web sites are not very trustworthy if you really want to know where a name comes from. That's not really their purpose; the main thing is to give ideas for people who are about to name their baby.

Hey, if we pick the winning name what do we win? Dinner for two at Tavern on the Green, or a bottle of wine, or our consulting fee?

I don't drink, so the consulting fee would be nice. Or at least an espresso. Heck, even a redeye.
