For this game all you have to do is say a song title that contains a word from the song title posted before it, simple. It's a bit of fun and could perhaps introduce you to new songs. The songs can be from any artist of any genre. Just to get started I will randomly select a song, and say a reply.
first song:
These colours don't run - Iron Maiden
I can then reply with:
Don't get mad get get even - Aerosmith (Both songs contain the word don't)
That could be replied with:
I'll Get Even - Megadeth (Both songs contain the word Even)
When you reply you don't need to say which word is in both titles I was just doing that for an example.
Now just carry on from the last title.

Bitter, bitter mouth
Spitin' out seeds of doubt
Rituals seek root
Razed before they're told
Stories break like branches in the cold
Seasons trial finds man's mistakes fair game
Careless hand
Lay and law of the land
Falls by the side
Silenced sentient cries
All within the lines of divine right
Better bury the tracks in an unclosed case
Weeds of discontent choke a broken ghost landscape
Cruel, heartless reign
Chasing short term gains
Right down to the warning signs
Birds refuse to fly
No longer trust the sky
Drifting out beyond the signals
Even the horizon is gone
Weather flees underground

Give me the biggest lecture I ever had
I want a brave man, I want a cave man
Johnny, show me that you care, really care for me
Every time you danced with me
You let Freddy cut in constantly
When he'd ask, you'd never speak
Must you always be so meek?

Come on all you pretty women, with your hair a hanging down,
Open up your windows cuz the candymans in town.
Come on boys and gamble, roll those laughing bones,
Seven come eleven, boys Ill take your money home.
Look out, look out the candyman,
Here he comes and hes gone again.
Pretty lady aint got no friend till,
The candyman comes around again, around again.
I come from memphis where I learned to talk the jive,
When I get back to memphis be one less man alive.
Good morning mr. benson, I see youre doing well,
If I had me a shotgun Id blow you straight to hell.
Look out, look out the candyman,
Here he comes and hes gone again.
Pretty lady aint got no friend till,
The candyman comes around again, around again.
Come on boys and wager if you have got the mind,
If youve got a dollar boys, lay it on the line,
Hand me my old guitar, pass the whiskey round,
Wont you tell everybody you meet that the candymans in town.
Candy Perfume Girl -- Madonna

Girl, You'll be a woman someday - Garry Puckett and the Union Gap -- a very creepy song
oops, Neil Diamond, who also wrote Sweet Caroline, about Caroline Kennedy when she was like 13 and he was like 25.
Is that related to Urge Overkill's "Girl, you'll be a woman soon?"
Grey Seal -- Elton John
Uh, yeah, its the same song. You don't think UOK wrote something that complex do 'ya? (and for the record, unlike 10StM, I do like UOK)
Touch of Grey - Garcia/Hunter
Must be getting early, clocks are running late.
Paint my love a morning sky, its all cold.
Dawn is breaking everywhere, light a candle, curse the glare
Draw the curtains I dont care, but its all right
I will get by, I will get by, I will get by, I will survive.
I see you've got your list out, say your piece and kiss off.
Guess I get the gist of it, but its all right
Oh well anyway, sorry that you feel that way.
Every silver linings got a touch of grey
I will get by, I will get by, I will get by, I will survive.
Its a lesson to me, the ablers and the beggars and the thieves
The abcs we all think of, try to win a little love.
I know the rent is in arrears, the dog has not been fed in years
Its even worse than it appears, but its all right
Cow is giving kerosene, kid cant read at seventeen
The words he knows are all obscene, but its all right
I will get by, I will get by, I will get by, I will survive.
Shoe is on the hand that fits, thats all there really is to it
Whistle through your teeth and spit, but its all right
Oh well a touch of grey, kinda suits you anyway,
Thats all I had to say, but its all right
I will get by, I will get by, I will get by, I will survive.
Its a lesson to me, the devils and the east and the free
The abcs we all must face, try to save a little grace.
Oh since you said "someday", was just curious if the UOK version had changed it.
Touch-a touch-a touch me -- Janet Weiss ;)
I was feeling done in
Couldn't win
I'd only ever kissed before
I thought there's no use getting
Into heavy petting
It only leads to trouble
And seat wetting
Now all I want to know
Is how to go
I've tasted blood and I want more
I'll put up no resistance
I want to stay the distance
I've got an itch to scratch
I need assistance
Touch-a touch-a touch-a touch me
I wanna be dirty
Thrill me, chill me, fulfill me
Creature of the night
Then if anything grows
While you pose
I'll oil you up
And rub you down
And that's just one small fraction
Of the main attraction
You need a friendly hand
And I need action
Touch-a touch-a touch-a touch me
I wanna be dirty
Thrill me, chill me, fulfill me
Creature of the night
Touch And Go -- ELP

I love Midnight, by Ice T and Body Count, one of the best rap lyrics ever
Midnight chillin' at A.M P.M.
Coolin' drinkin' apple juice
In Evil's BM
The sound's up loud
To attract attention
armoraled tires
On a lowered suspension
Nardi to steer with
Alpine deck was glowin'
Bumpinn' Big Daddy
And the nigga was definitely flowin'
I was ridin' shotgun
Donald and Hen in back
Look thru the tint recognized a jack
Two brothers strolled up
Talkin' bout get out
Donald D blazed
Shot one fool thru his ->-bleeped-<-in' mouth
Why would they step
When they know we're strapped?
I never cruise L.A.
Without a Gat in my lap
The other fool shot
Caut the E in the shoulder blade
I busted thru the ca door
That's where the nigga laid
Hen jumped out
Dropped two nines in his forehead
Evil was bleedin' bad
The car seats were turnin' red
Looked to my left
There were two more carloads
Niggas in hats and hoods
In an attack mode
And they hadn't yet begun to fight
E hit the gas
It was one past midnight!
We boned down Vernon
Right on Normandie
Left on Florence
Gettin' thru the E.T.G.'s
Spun out on Vermont
Made a left on Colden
Right on Hoover
E where we goin'?
He didn'T even answer that
Checked the reaar view
They were still out back
Where were these brothers from?
What made these brothers come
Bang! our back window
Was removed by a shotgun
Now Hen G was shot
Don caught a ricochet
These mother->-bleeped-<-ers was ill
They didn't come to play
Bust a right turn, parked
and then we got left
Hid in the the bushes
Shot the gas tank to fake death
But would this really
Keep them psyched?
Three of us bleedin'
It was ten past midnight!
I really didn't like
How this ->-bleeped-<- was goin' down
Wrong night, wrong time
Wrong ->-bleeped-<-in' part of town
Ya see we was deep
In the Hoover's hood
Three niggas bleedin'
That ->-bleeped-<- don't look good!
See over there red don't go
Some places red's all they know
But not our luck
Tonight we was real ->-bleeped-<-ed
Broke down an alley
And we instantly had to duck
->-bleeped-<-in' police on a gang sweep
No time to deal with one time
So we had to creep
Broke thru a back yard
Ran thru a vacant lot
E, Hen and Don kept up
To be some niggas shot
->-bleeped-<- was gettin' craazy
So I had to get busy
Hen was bleedin' worse
And Evil was gettin' dizzy
Looked in a parking lot
I needed a snatch bar
Had to hot wire
So I moved on an old car
It was a bucket, but ->-bleeped-<- it, it had to do
Started it up
And scooped my whole crew
Two blocks later
We saw ->-bleeped-<-in' blue lights
The pigs were behind us
It was half past midnight!
When they pulled us over
->-bleeped-<- got worse
I waited till they got out
And then I hit reverse
->-bleeped-<-ed 'em up, I seen one cop fall
Threw it in gear, yo I'm outty yall
Don't know how
But somehow we got away
Lost the jackers, the cops
Dumped the G.T.A.
Made it back to the hood
Fixed the crew up
And even though Evil's car blew up
We made it home and then I crashed out
Thinkin' bout my all-night death bout
Then somethin' woke me up
From my dark sleep
The sound of ->-bleeped-<-in' police
When they're tryin' to creep
Broke thru my door
With no goddamn warning
Looked at my watch
It was six in the mornin'!
But to be fair and play the game

The Revolution Will Not Be Televised - Gill Scott-Heron
You will not be able to stay home, brother.
You will not be able to plug in, turn on and cop out.
You will not be able to lose yourself on skag and skip,
Skip out for beer during commercials,
Because the revolution will not be televised.
The revolution will not be televised.
The revolution will not be brought to you by Xerox
In 4 parts without commercial interruptions.
The revolution will not show you pictures of Nixon
blowing a bugle and leading a charge by John
Mitchell, General Abrams and Spiro Agnew to eat
hog maws confiscated from a Harlem sanctuary.
The revolution will not be televised.
The revolution will not be brought to you by the
Schaefer Award Theatre and will not star Natalie
Woods and Steve McQueen or Bullwinkle and Julia.
The revolution will not give your mouth sex appeal.
The revolution will not get rid of the nubs.
The revolution will not make you look five pounds
thinner, because the revolution will not be televised, Brother.
There will be no pictures of you and Willie May
pushing that shopping cart down the block on the dead run,
or trying to slide that color television into a stolen ambulance.
NBC will not be able predict the winner at 8:32
or report from 29 districts.
The revolution will not be televised.
There will be no pictures of pigs shooting down
brothers in the instant replay.
There will be no pictures of pigs shooting down
brothers in the instant replay.
There will be no pictures of Whitney Young being
run out of Harlem on a rail with a brand new process.
There will be no slow motion or still life of Roy
Wilkens strolling through Watts in a Red, Black and
Green liberation jumpsuit that he had been saving
For just the proper occasion.
Green Acres, The Beverly Hillbillies, and Hooterville
Junction will no longer be so damned relevant, and
women will not care if Dick finally gets down with
Jane on Search for Tomorrow because Black people
will be in the street looking for a brighter day.
The revolution will not be televised.
There will be no highlights on the eleven o'clock
news and no pictures of hairy armed women
liberationists and Jackie Onassis blowing her nose.
The theme song will not be written by Jim Webb,
Francis Scott Key, nor sung by Glen Campbell, Tom
Jones, Johnny Cash, Englebert Humperdink, or the Rare Earth.
The revolution will not be televised.
The revolution will not be right back after a message
bbout a white tornado, white lightning, or white people.
You will not have to worry about a dove in your
bedroom, a tiger in your tank, or the giant in your toilet bowl.
The revolution will not go better with Coke.
The revolution will not fight the germs that may cause bad breath.
The revolution will put you in the driver's seat.
The revolution will not be televised, will not be televised,
will not be televised, will not be televised.
The revolution will be no re-run brothers;
The revolution will be live.
It was rap, before rap.

I just don't see the connection outside of the word 'the' which doesn't count. I thought we were (and I went back and read the beginning, to insure I was right all along, that we were) playing a game that I play at work, with naming songs, movies, bands, whatever, basing the next name on the last one, so that one word repeats, but then again, I'm slow.
P.S. One of the songs on that 1200 Curfews CD was done at a show I worked, so I'm kind of on it.
Yes, I would. The little words, 'the' 'and' 'a' 'of' and stuff were not the object, but you can play it however you like, I can't punish you like I can the guys and gals at work for transgression of the unwritten rule.

No way! There's been many breat rock bands since the time they first appeared, Such as Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, Dream Theater, Annihilator and Skid Row (when they had Sebastian Bach).
Some more recent bands like The Answer, Blackstone Cherry, Heaven's Basement and Lethargy all have potential to become classic Great Rock Bands.
The sad thing is that most of the so-called 'rock' press just ignores these great new proper rock bands to just focus on crap like Nu-Metal, pop-punk and emo.
anyway here's my next one.

Momma didn't come home last evening
Neighbors say that she's a whore
Some folks never want for nothin'
I'm a worn out hand be down
Stupid rich kid gets me angry
Lord, I'm gonna cut him down
Now I'm grown up same old story
At 21 I fell in love
She left me just like the others
Jesus why'd you curse my love?
Drunk daddy broke my fingers
Drunk Daddy done kicked my head
Drunk Daddy smashed my sister
Turned my whole world red (blood red)
I haul the burden for the high and mighty
But I'm the top hat Devil's son
I got the luck of the drunk, try an' nail me
I'm the bullseye - aim your gun
Yesterday they shook your hand boy
Now they're gonna stab your back
I can hear their sickening laughter
Sneakin' like a Siamese cat
Back stage in the club bathroom
A graven image on the wall
I'm about to get my vengeance
Lights go out in the hall
You gotta move fast to beat the devil
You arm is too short to box with God
Big shadow in the doorway
He's not going to spare the rod (so get out)
Drunk daddy broke my fingers
Drunk daddy done kicked my head
Drunk daddy smashed my sister
Turned my whole world red (blood red)
he's coming up the stairs
he's got that thing in his hand
no dad, don't, leave me alone

That wanker, most over-rated guitar slinger on the planet, really.
Surfin U.S.A. - Beach Boys
Surfin on Jupiter -- Psychofunkapuss
Quote from: tekla on December 23, 2008, 11:31:27 AM
That wanker, most over-rated guitar slinger on the planet, really.
I'd vote Yngwie Malmsteen as the most over-rated guitarist. He needs a separate tour bus just for his ego.
Drops Of Jupiter - Train
Well our joke is that they are bringing two 53 foot trucks, one for equipment, one for ego, thankfully Yngwie does not tour much.
Book Of Love (by the band of the same name, Book Of Love)
What!? Yngwie and Satch Over rated! People that can play the guitar well getting a bit of recognition for it, who'd of thought it.
Theese two where revolutionary guitarists, especially yngwie who showed sweep picking to the world and played a big part in creating the genres of shred and power metal. And Satch is legend of instrumental rock and taught Kirk Hammet and Steve Vai.
If you want over-rated wankers look at all these crap emo bands that the music world seems to be giving all their attention to and there guitarists, they are getting more fame, fortune and recognition and they can't even play, no solos or even pick the strings correctly. And they all look and sound the same.
Anyway my next one is:
You Give Love A Bad Name - Bon Jovi (In my oppinion Richie Sambora is under rated as a guitar player)
Heart of Love - Jamie Bond (Heavenly Kid Soundtrack)
Shot Through The Heart - Bon Jovi
I find Satch and Yngwie to be great guitarists. But, it seems they believe this, too, perhaps too much. Recognition is one thing. Expecting deference that borders on worship is another.
Shot In The Dark -- Ozzy Osbourne
Dark Star - Dead
Shining Star -- Earth, Wind and Fire
See I find them to be halfway players, all technique, no soul. Their skill in musical tricks, like YM unreal ability to do the almost endless arpeggio - something I bet he learned from Bach BTW.... SO, after that killer arpeggio, what's next YM? Oh yeah, another arpeggio, followed by another arpeggio, and yes, you guessed it, another arpeggio.
I've seen a lot of people, myself included, moved to tears watching people make music, but the only way you get tears in anyone's eyes when these two guys start wanking is to stand on their foot.
What they are, is more or less novelty acts, like Dread Zepplin - OK, so you do Zep songs, in a reggie tempo with a fake Elvis singing. OK, first song, not bad, second song, is this all? third song out the door. They have their joke, and its all they really have.
As one of my friends says, most bands have one song, and they just write it again, and again, and again - but great bands, they have two. In both these cases JS and YM, they have one lick, and its over and over, without so much as like a song structure to break it up a bit. Just wank, wank, wank, like a porno movie with a guitar.
I can remember when Joe played with a real band - called The Squares - and they would do like, real songs, he would solo for a few bars, then back to the song. They were pretty good. But the 90 minute solo? I'll pass.
And I've been working with JS for a decade now, even worked his DVD shoot, we just did him a couple of months ago, sat there a few feet from him and read my book. Didn't do much for me.
Lucky Star - Madonna
Black Star -- Yngwie J. Malmsteen's Rising Force
Sorry, Tekla, I just couldn't resist.
I'll take Michael Manring and the late Michael Hedges over Satch and Yngwie any day. And for the record (no pun intended) one of my favorite guitar solos is in the verison of "Subculture" that New Order re-recorded for their 1987 Substance compilation. Nothing faster than an eighth note, but quite captivatiting, to me.
Beck - Dark Star
Dark Was The Night - Blind Willie Johnson
And that is stuff that can move you to tears. Its even on the Voyager record. So at least the aliens will hear real playing before they get to the junk.
The Night Is Calling -- the Lords of the New Church
Because The Night - Patti Smith/Bruce
all night - Damien "Jr Gong" Marley
good night, good night - spiritualized
When The Night Comes Falling From The Sky - bob dylan
falling away from you - muse
Look Away -- Big Country
Can't Help Falling In Love - Elvis
Up, Up & Away - 5th Dim.
I agree that there isn't an awful lot of variation, especialy with malmsteen and the'r isn't an awful lot of soul in it, but with satch there is soul and feeling, and the reason why it doesn't break anyone out in tears is because it is happy music, happiness is a feeling too. Who wants to listen to music and cry? And there's no lyrics to make you want to cry etc. I think that having lyrics can add greatly to the feeling of a song, so with satch's lack of lyrics there may not seem to be as much feeling as there could be.
No song has ever mooved me tears but one song that I do think is really powerfull with the comination of music and lyrics is Countdown To Extinction by Megadeth, there is an awfull lot of feeling in that song, as with alot of megadeth's songs, a very, very underated band in my oppinion.
ANyway next song is:Falling Of The EDge Of The World - Black Sabbath
Megadeath gets underrated because of Mustane, Drover was a much better player, but I guess he got the axe, because he's no longer with them. Remember, there is a reason he got kicked out of Metallica.
To the Edge - Lacuna Coil, who is a better band then they ought to be, but I think that's all the singer.
The Ecstasy of Gold -- Ennio Morricone
The Wall -- Pink Floydd (and Korn, and Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine...)
The Wall would have been so good as a single record, and awesome as a single with Run Like Hell, backed with Comfortably Numb.
climbing up the walls - radiohead
The Walls Came Down -- the Call
Walling in and out of love with you? - perhaps I head that one wrong.
The B52s - Love Shack
I'm headin' down the Atlanta Highwaaaay! ;D
Psychedelic Shack - that's where it's at! - The Temps.
That's Entertainment -- The Jam (I think)
Umm, that was a quote from the song, not part of the title, Motown hated to title like that, they loved the quick, easy to remember stuff.
Oops, my bad. OK, so the last song title was Love Shack.
Love My Way -- Psychedelic Furs
Queen - Love of my life
It's My Life -- Talk Talk (and covered by Gwen Stefani)
Wild Wild Life - Talking Heads
Walk on the Wild Side - Lou Reed
Wild Thing - Ton Loc
Wild Horses - Mick and the boys
Dead Horse - Gn'R

don't jump - tokio hotel

Which of course becomes the new title.
So,
Soul Man - Sam and Dave
Rock This Town -- the Stray Cats
OK, hell I can match both - I'm good at this, might be the only thing. yet...
Rock and Soul Music - Country Joe and the Fish, Live at Woodstock.

Arabian wind, The needle's eye is thin, The ships of state sail on mirage,
And drown in sand, Out in no-man's land where Allah does command.
What good is spilling blood? It will not grow a thing;
Taste eternity the swords sing: Blues of Allah In 'sh'Allah.
They lie where they fall, There's nothing more to say,
The desert stars are bright tonight lets meet as friends,
The Flower of Islam, The Fruit of Abraham.
The thousand stories have come round to one again,
Arabian night, Our Gods pursue their fight,
What fatal flowers of darkness spring from seeds of light.
Bird of paradise fly in white sky, Blues for Allah In 'sh'Allah,
Let's see with our heart, These things our eyes have seen,
And know the truth must still lie somewhere in between.
Under eternity, under eternity, under eternity blue,
Bird of paradise fly in white sky, Blues for Allah In 'sh'Allah.

Pieces - Linkin Park
And 'cause it's such a great song:
QuoteTelling me to go,
But hands beg me to stay.
Your lips say that you love,
Your eyes say that you hate.
There's truth in your lies,
Doubt in your faith.
What you build you lay to waste.
There's truth in your lies,
Doubt in your faith.
All I've got's what you didn't take.
So I, I won't be the one,
Be the one to leave this,
In pieces.
And you, you will be alone,
Alone with all your secrets,
And regrets.
Don't lie.
You promised me the sky,
Then tossed me like a stone.
You wrap me in your arms,
And chill me to the bone.
There's truth in your lies,
Doubt in your faith.
All I've got's what you didn't take.
So I, I won't be the one,
Be the one to leave this,
In pieces.
And you, you will be alone,
Alone with all your secrets,
And regrets.
Don't lie.
So I, I won't be the one,
Be the one to leave this,
In pieces.
And you, you will be alone,
Alone with all your secrets,
And regrets.
Don't lie.

Lol yeah the music that i DJ is an aqcuired taste. I posted a song earlier today called Its Over Now - Big Ang Ft. Sobhian, its what is called funky organ bassline. a new type of club music created in Sheffield UK and is still very much underground so i doubt alot of people will of heard of it. I am uploading it too my website will post link soon so you can have a listen.
This is very much club music and i will be very suprised if anyone on here who listens to it likes it but i would bet anything on if i were to bring some equipment too your house and you got your friends around and i mixed some of these tunes together you would ahev the time of your life, b-line music gives the DJ so much choice in their mixes. i also do dance & techno but B-line is my passion.
it has uploaded.

This is the full raw track for dj's which off the top of my head has a 192 Beat intro so skip to about 1 Min 30 Sec, the tune kicks in about then.
This is low end bass music so turn it up!
btw the main website isnt mine, i have allowed my mate to put his uni project on there untill it gets marked, saves him buying his own website space.
interested to hear people views as this music isnt main stream yet!
Well I worked my first rave back in 1988 and toured (doing lighting effects) for Chrystal Method in 96-97, before Vegas. And I've worked with Oakenfold, Saha and Digweed, Mixmaster Mike, and a lot of others, and never liked most of it, except for Oakenfold, Shadow and Cut Chemist.
And I do lots of DJ set-ups, its easy money, so long as I don't have to deal with the ego. You are only playing records (and now mostly CDs and ProTools) after all.
you hit the nail on the head! Thats what we do, we play records seamlessly.
I hated electronic beats untill i stood in the DJ booth with my cousin for one night, since then i loved it.
you ever tried to DJ? it aint as simple as just playing records but i get your point.
Oakenfold is a genious. wish i was you! lol only joking.
can i ask what your job is?
whatever it is i want it! lol
back to the game......
you sexy thing - hot chocolate
My iTunes plays them seamlessly also.
And I'm a union theater tech. I do sound and lighting for rock bands mostly, but do club hangs also, as I'm a certified rigger. I also climb a lot doing lighting focus. I work mostly at two clubs/theaters in SF, the Warfield and the Fillmore, yes, the little Fillmore in SF, we hope to be famous some day.

Please Don't Bury Me - John Prine, one of his best songs, easy to play for a klutz like me.
Woke up this morning
Put on my slippers
Walked in the kitchen and died
And oh what a feeling!
When my soul
Went thru the ceiling
And on up into heaven I did ride
When I got there they did say
John, it happened this way
You slipped upon the floor
And hit your head
And all the angels say
Just before you passed away
These were the very last words
That you said:
Chorus:
Please don't bury me
Down in that cold cold ground
No, I'd druther have "em" cut me up
And pass me all around
Throw my brain in a hurricane
And the blind can have my eyes
And the deaf can take both of my ears
If they don't mind the size
Give my stomach to Milwaukee
If they run out of beer
Put my socks in a cedar box
Just get "em" out of here
Venus de Milo can have my arms
Look out! I've got your nose
Sell my heart to the junkman
And give my love to Rose
Repeat Chorus
Give my feet to the footloose
Careless, fancy free
Give my knees to the needy
Don't pull that stuff on me
Hand me down my walking cane
It's a sin to tell a lie
Send my mouth way down south
And kiss my ass goodbye

with you, Sirene.
'Cause you pretend
to be more than a friend
This is the sweetest feeling
But I don't understand
if it's part of a plan to be lying
To me, Sirene?

I was losing time, I had nothing to do,
No one to fight, I came to you.
Wheels broke down, leader wont draw,

Tomorrow come trouble, tomorrow come pain,
Now dont think too hard baby, cause I know what Im saying.
You cried, Tekla? You?
Once In a Life Time - Talking Heads

Worked with Leslie West and Corky Laing about a month or so ago, he still rocks.
Not at all surprising. I saw Mountain when I was a kid, and they were truly powerful.
Mississippi Blues - Willie Brown
Here's to the State of Mississippi - Phil Ochs.
Here's to the state of Mississippi,
For Underheath her borders, the devil draws no lines,
If you drag her muddy river, nameless bodies you will find.
Whoa the fat trees of the forest have hid a thousand crimes,
The calender is lyin' when it reads the present time.
Whoa here's to the land you've torn out the heart of,
Mississippi find yourself another country to be part of!
Here's to the people of Mississippi
Who say the folks up north, they just don't understand
And they tremble in their shadows at the thunder of the Klan
The sweating of their souls can't wash the blood from off their hands
They smile and shrug their shoulders at the murder of a man
Oh, here's to the land you've torn out the heart of
Mississippi find yourself another country to be part of
Here's to the schools of Mississippi
Where they're teaching all the children that they don't have to care
All of rudiments of hatred are present everywhere
And every single classroom is a factory of despair
There's nobody learning such a foreign word as fair
Oh, here's to the land you've torn out the heart of
Mississippi find yourself another country to be part of
Here's to the cops of Mississippi
They're chewing their tobacco as they lock the prison door
Their bellies bounce inside them as they knock you to the floor
No they don't like taking prisoners in their private little war
Behind their broken badges there are murderers and more
Oh, here's to the land you've torn out the heart of
Mississippi find yourself another country to be part of
And, here's to the judges of Mississippi
Who wear the robe of honor as they crawl into the court
They're guarding all the bastions with their phony legal fort
Oh, justice is a stranger when the prisoners report
When the black man stands accused the trial is always short
Oh, here's to the land you've torn out the heart of
Mississippi find yourself another country to be part of
And here's to the government of Mississippi
In the swamp of their bureaucracy they're always bogging down
And criminals are posing as the mayors of the towns
They're hoping that no one sees the sights and hears the sounds
And the speeches of the governor are the ravings of a clown
Oh, here's to the land you've torn out the heart of
Mississippi find yourself another country to be part of
And here's to the laws of Mississippi
Congressmen will gather in a circus of delay
While the Constitution is drowning in an ocean of decay
Unwed mothers should be sterilized, I've even heard them say
Yes, corruption can be classic in the Mississippi way
Oh, here's to the land you've torn out the heart of
Mississippi find yourself another country to be part of
And here's to the churches of Mississippi
Where the cross, once made of silver, now is caked with rust
And the Sunday morning sermons pander to their lust
The fallen face of Jesus is choking in the dust
Heaven only knows in which God they can trust
Oh, here's to the land you've torn out the heart of
Mississippi find yourself another country to be part of

QUICK JOEY SMALL
Kasenetz Katz Singing Orchestral Circus - 1968
Quick Joey Small went over the wall
With a ball an' a chain behind him
Quick Joey Small went over the wall
Send the dogs right out to find him.
In a striped prision suit with no room to move
He headed for the highway
With his chain still dragin'
He thumbed down a wagon said Well you're goin my way.
And they say now
Run Joey , Joey run run the hounds are on your trail
Jump-up Jump-up
Run Joey , Joey run run they're gonna send you back to jail.
Sheriff got a shotgun, he do
He'll fill you full of lead son, it's true.
He's also got a blackjack, he's mad
He'd bust your head with one wack,
Here I go now.
Run Joey , Joey run run the hounds are on your trail.
Sweet Mary Jane was goin' insane
When she heard of Joey's jail break
But she knew all the while 'cause
She sent him a file
Baked inside a fudge cake.
Run Joey , Joey run run the hounds are on your trail
Jump-up Jump-up
Run Joey , Joey run run they're gonna send you back to jail.
Sheriff Jack Banes was a light on brains
But he knew one thing for sure
He took some toughs and a pair of handcuffs
And headed straight for Mary Jane's door
Run Joey , Joey run run the hounds are on your trail
Jump-up Jump-up
Run Joey , Joey run run they're gonna send you back to jail.
Run Joey , Joey run run the hounds are on your trail
Jump-up Jump-up
Run Joey , Joey run run they're gonna send you back to jail.

But I'm always there when I need you - yeah!
It's when a pat on the back becomes a slap in your face now..
(Don't look back just helpyourselfish.)
And when your friends begin to loose their way..
(Don't look back just helpyourselfish.)
Yeah, it's easy to be hard, if we got everything now
(Don't look back just helpyourselfish.)
Through the revolving door on someone elses push
Yeah it's easy to be hard Easy to be hard...
Help - The Beatles
Help, I need somebody,
Help, not just anybody,
Help, you know I need someone, help.
When I was younger, so much younger than today,
I never needed anybody's help in any way.
But now these days are gone, I'm not so self assured,
Now I find I've changed my mind and opened up the doors.
Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being round.
Help me, get my feet back on the ground,
Won't you please, please help me?
And now my life has changed in oh so many ways,
My independence seems to vanish in the haze.
But every now and then I feel so insecure,
I know that I just need you like I've never done before.
Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being round.
Help me, get my feet back on the ground,
Won't you please, please help me.
When I was younger, so much younger than today,
I never needed anybody's help in any way.
But now these days are gone, I'm not so self assured,
Now I find I've changed my mind and opened up the doors.
Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being round.
Help me, get my feet back on the ground,
Won't you please, please help me, help me, help me, oh.
Help Me - Joni Mitchell
Help me
I think Im falling
In love again
When I get that crazy feeling, I know
Im in trouble again
Im in trouble
cause youre a rambler and a gambler
And a sweet-taiking-ladies man
And you love your lovin
But not like you love your freedom
Help me
I think Im falling
In love too fast
Its got me hoping for the future
And worrying about the past
cause Ive seen some hot hot blazes
Come down to smoke and ash
We love our lovin
But not like we love our freedom
Didnt it feel good
We were sitting there talking
Or lying there not talking
Didnt it feel good
You dance with the lady
With the hole in her stocking
Didnt it feel good
Didnt it feel good
Help me
I think Im falling
In love with you
Are you going to let me go there by myself
Thats such a lonely thing to do
Both of us flirting around
Flirting and flirting
Hurting too
We love our lovin
But not like we love our freedom

And ends up with a kiss

We'll over-act like hell

Let It Be
Let It Rain - Eric Clapton
Double Word Score!
Purple Rain - Prince
I Wish It Would Rain - by the immortal Temptations
Sunshine, blue sky, please go away,
My girl has found another, and gone away
With her went my future, my life is filled with gloom,
So day after day, I stay locked up in my room
I know to you it might sound strange,
I wish it would rain
Soon It's Gonna Rain - From the Fantastiks
Looks Like RAIN - G. Dead
Awoke today, felt your side of the bed;
The covers were still warm where you been layin'.
You were gone, oh gone, my heart was filled with dread;
You might not be sleeping here again.
But it's all right cause I love you, and that's not going to change.
Run me around and make me hurt again and again.
But I'll still sing you love songs, written in the letters of your name.
The rain is gonna come, oh it surely looks like rain
Did you ever waken to the sound of street cats making love?
You guess from the cries you were listening to a fight.
Well you know, oh know, hate's the last thing they're thinking of.
You know they're only tryin' to make it thru the night.
I only want to hold you, I don't want to tie you down
Or fit you in the lines I might've drawn.
It's just that I, oh I, have gotten used to havin' you around.
The landscape would be empty, if you were gone;
But it's all right cause I love you, and that's not going to change.
Run me around and make me hurt again and again.
But I'll still sing you love songs, written in the letter of your name.
The rain is gonna come, oh it surely looks like rain.
Dude (Looks Like A Lady) - Aerosmith
Backstage we're having the time
Of our lives until somebody say
Forgive me if I seem out of line
Then she whipped out her gun
And tried to blow me away
(That, that) Dude looks like a lady
(That, that) Dude looks like a lady
(That, that) Dude looks like a lady
(That, that) Dude looks like a lady
So never judge a book by it's cover
Or who you're going to love by your lover
Love put me wise to her love in disguise
She had the body of a venus
Lord imagine my surprise
*cough*
Lay Lady Lay - that bob guy
Lay Down Your Arms - Tim Christensen
Lay down you arms
And surrender to me
You've got all the answers
but it won't set your free.
Hold on to someone and nothing will turn you on
Your dreams are on death row
How long will they last?
When you dream of the future
but long for the past?
Hold on to no one and something might turn you on
It's coming your way
Dancing so elegantly
And as sweet as can be
But this is another story
If you lost your glory
And you wont take chances
Cause you know the answer's wrong
But it's you that I want
Down On The Corner - CCR
Help Is Round The Corner - Coldplay
Stuck here, in the middle of nowhere,
With a head ache, and a heavy heart,
Well nothing was going quite right here,
And I'm tired, I can't play no part.
Help On the Way - that Dead band from Marin
Paradise waits
on the crest of a wave
her angels in flame
She has no pain
Like a child, she is pure
She is not to blame
Poised for flight
Wings spread bright
Spring from night
into the sun
Don't stop to run
She can fly like a lie
She cannot be outdone
Tell me the cost
I can pay
Let me go
Tell me love is not lost
Sell everything
Without love, day to day,
insanity is king
I will pay
day by day
anyway
Lock, bolt and key
Crippled but free
I was blind
all the time
I was learning to see
Help on the way
I know only this
I've got you today
Don't fly away
'cause I love what I love
and I want it that way
I will stay
one more day
Like I say
Honey, it's you
Making it too
Without love in the dream
It will never come true
All The Way To Reno - R.E.M.
Wing is written on your feet
Your achilles heel
Is the tendency to dream
But you've know that from the beginning
You didn't have to go so far
You didn't have to go.
You know what you are
You're gonna be a star.
You know what you are
You're gonna be a star

A Way Out - Saybia
What if I stay one more day?
Only to see you walk away
Leaving this man for everything else
I'm trying to open up tonight
I need to know why we fight
Am I the wall we both climb?
If you walk away without a warning
If you find a way out
A way out
A way out
Cigarette's lit, and so am I
In a room full of smoke and hidden goodbyes
With walls caving in on you and I
Why should I stay one more day?
If you walk away without a warning
If you find a way out
A way out
A way out

All tomorrow's parties - The Velvet Underground - Japan
"So what dress will the poor girl wear...to all tomorrow's parties?"
Tomorrow Never Knows - fab 4
Turn off your mind, relax
and float down stream
It is not dying
It is not dying
Lay down all thought
Surrender to the void
It is shining
It is shining
That you may see
The meaning of within
It is being
It is being
That love is all
And love is everyone
It is knowing
It is knowing
That ignorance and hate
May mourn the dead
It is believing
It is believing
But listen to the
color of your dreams
It is not living
It is not living
Or play the game
existence to the end
Of the beginning

Little boy, you only wanna dance with me
And suit yourself. Nine months is too much is too much for me, but
I had it all, but I lost it to you that day.
I should have known when the birds ran from me that day.
Little love, push me to the end of time
And suit yourself, just suit yourself, a little lover's all I needed, but
I had it all, but I lost it to you that day.
I should have known when the birds ran from me that day.
Hang on to Yourself - David Bowie
She's a tongue twisting storm, she will come to the show tonight
Praying to the light machine
She wants my honey not my money she's a funky-thigh collector
Layin' on 'lectric dreams
So come on, come on, we've really got a good thing going
Come on, come on, If you think your gonna make it you better hang on to yourself
We can't dance, we don't talk much, just ball and play
But then we move like tigers on vaseline
The bitter comes out better on a stolen guitar

Running to Stand Still - U2
And so she woke up
from where she was lying still
Said we got to do something about where were going
Step on a steam train
Step out of the driving train
Maybe run from the darkness in the night
Singing ha la la la de day
Singing ha la la la de day
Sweet the sin
But the bitter taste in my mouth
I see seven towers
But I only see one way out
You got to cry without weeping
Talk without speaking
Scream without raising your voice, you know
I took the poison, from the poison stream,
Then I floated out of here
Singing ha la la la de day
Singing ha la la la de day
She runs through the streets
With her eyes painted red
Under black belly of cloud in the rain
In through a doorway she brings me
White gold and pearls stolen from the sea
She is raging
She is raging and the storm blows up in her eyes
She will suffer the needle chill
She is running to stand still
Still Crazy After All These Years - Paul Simon
Crazy - Patsy Cline (written by Willie Nelson)
Crazy For You -- Madonna
The Seething Rain Weeps For You - Mew
Saying goodbye now
Looking at friends
A lump comes in my throat
Hearing them all speak of you
It rains
We have no umbrella brought
With which the wind be fought
The seething rain weeps for you
Speaking of better days
There are so many things I want to say
Should I re-live my life
I´d run into you much sooner
Time has, it would seem
Quickened its pace
Leaving upon your face
A curly smile meant just for me
Speaking of better days
I try to remember everything
But as the years go by
The dark moments lift
Like rain clouds do
With destruction hands
And low lit snow becoming
Winter body aches
Speaking of better days
I try to remember everything
But as the years go by
The dark moments lift
Like rain clouds do
From my window I watch the day go by
Stand By Me was done by Ben E. King who was a member of Drifters, its one of the few songs that was a hit twice, once in 1961 and again in 1986.
Crazy Fingers - Dead
Your rain falls like crazy fingers
Peals of fragile thunder keeping time
Recall the days that still are to come some sing blue.
Hang your heart on laughing willow stray
Down to the water, deep sea of love
beneath the sweet calm face of the sea swift undertow.
Life may be sweeter for this, I don't know,
See how it feels in the end.
May Lady Lullaby sing plainly for you soft, strong, sweet and true.
Cloud hands reaching from a rainbow tapping at the window, touch your hair
So swift and bright strange figures of light float in air.
Who can stop what must arrive now? Something new is waiting to be born
Dark as the night you're still by my side shine inside .
Gone are the days we stopped to decide where we should go, we just ride.
Gone are the broken eyes we saw through in dreams gone, both dream and lie.
Life may be sweeter for this, I don't know,
Feels like it might be all right,
While Lady Lullaby sings plainly through you Love still rings true.
midnight on a carrocel ride, reaching for the gold ring down inside.
Never could reach it, just slips away but I try.

Teddy Bears' Picnic
If you go down to the woods today
You're sure of a big surprise
If you go down to the woods today
You better go in disguise
For every bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain because
Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic
If you go down to the woods today
You're sure of a big surprise
If you go down to the woods today
You better go in disguise
For every bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain because
Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic
At six o'clock their mummys and daddys
will take them home to bed
Because they're tired little teddy bears
Stoned Soul Picnic - Fifth Dimension, written by the ever-great Laura Nero
Soul love - Bowie
Stone love - she kneels before the grave
A brave son - who gave his life to see the slogan
That hoovers 'tween the headstone and her eyes
For they penetrate her grieving
New love-a boy and girl are talking
New words-that only they can share in
New words-a love so strong it tears their hearts
To sleep-through the fleeting hours of morning
Love is careless in its choosing-sweeping over cross a baby
Love descends on those defenseless
Idiot love will spark the fusion
Inspirations have I none-just to touch the flaming dove
All i have is my love of love-and love is not loving
Soul love-the priest that tastes the word and
Told of love-and how my God on high is
All love-though reaching up my loneliness evolves
By the blindness that surrounds him
Soul of a Man - Blind Willie Johnson
I'm waiting for the Man - THE VELVET UNDERGROUND
Man Smart, Woman Smarter - Harry Belafonte
I say let us put man and a woman together
To find out which one is smarter
Some say man but I say no
The woman got the man de day should know
And not me but the people they say
That de man are leading de women astray
But I say, that the women of today
Smarter than the man in every way
That's right de woman is uh smarter
That's right de woman is uh smarter
That's right de woman is uh smarter, that's right, that's right
Ever since the world began
Woman was always teaching man
And I you listen to my bid attentively
I goin' tell you how she smarter than me
Samson was the strongest man long ago
No one could a beat him, as we all know
Until he clash with Deliah on top of the bed
She told them all the strength was in the hair of his head
You meet a girl at a pretty dance
Thinking that you would stand a chance
Take her home, thinking she's alone
Open de door you find her husband home
I was treating a girl independently
She was making baby for me
When de baby born and I went to see
Eyes was blue it was not by me
Garden of Eden was very nice
Adam never work in Paradise
Eve meet snake, Paradise gone
She make Adam work from that day on

No Time To Sleep - Tina Dickow (From her new 3-EP box set, should've just been released in the states, though most likely under the name Tina Dico. My favourite Danish Singer/Songwriter!)
Who's gonna sing the song of change
If no one can imagine life outside the beaten track
And who's gonna stop a running train
If no one cares to dwell or no one wants to look back
Somewhere along the line you gave up askin'
When it got a little too complex
But if you don't question what has been
Does it mean that you don't care what's coming next
You got no one to follow
And no one will follow you
Ain't that a relief
That everything and everyone must grow in opposition
To resistance and contradiction
This ain't no time to go to sleep
This ain't no time to go to sleep
So who's gonna sing the song of faith
If no one prays for anything that can't be bought and sold
And who's gonna tell the story straight
Does anyone believe there's still a story to be told
Somewhere along the line you just stopped walking
When the undercurrent got too strong
Some day a lonely busker will come knocking
With a soft and long forgotten song
'Cause you got no one to follow
And no one will follow you
Ain't that a relief
That everything and everyone must grow in opposition
To resistance and contradiction
This ain't no time to go to sleep
This ain't no time to go to sleep
