After much speculation from bloggers and media outlets, it does appear that what many viewed as a conveniently timed wedding between Florida Governor Charlie Crist and Carole Rome is still on. The wedding announcement came out when Crist was on the short list for Vice-President on the McCain ticket and was seen by many as a way to put years of rumors about his sexuality to rest.

Well, the wedding is still on for December 12th and it hasn't escaped the notice of one gay rights group in Florida. The group Impact-Florida has announced it will be protesting Crist's wedding over his support of Amendment 2, the recently passed "Marriage Protection" amendment that not only bans same-sex marriage but could also have a devastating impact on domestic partnership rights.

I believe protesting at any event that is personal and should be private, is in bad taste.  I don't care if I'm on their side or not.  They shouldn't do this.
