sometimes wonder if my polyamorous identity and my kink identity are desperate attempts to fit in, to be a part of the queer community. A desperate attempt to say that "Hey, I might identify as a white male, but look I'm not monogamous and I'm submissive - so I can still be queer, right?".

I find it annoying that the queer community's norms are as strong as, if not stronger than, the mainstream society. You know what? I'm gonna quote Julia Serano. This is from the chapter "The future of queer/trans activism" in the book "Whipping Girl: A transsexual woman on sexism and the scapegoating of femininity". If you havent read it, do it now.
