I love wearing heels (2 to 3 inch) but I am tall.
I love the way they make my legs look, they way they make me feel and the frame of mind they put me in. I can wear them all day long and never had a problem getting around.
I think they make me too noticable, though, because I am already tall. Part of me doesn't care, part of me thinks I should dress according to my looks. What does everyone else think or do?
I LOOOVE heels, but I only wear them from time to time, I'm more of a sandals girl.
I'm 5'9" and feel the same way you do about standing out (pardon the pun, hehe), but remember - they can make you stand out in two ways:
1. you stand out cuz you look good wearing them
2. if you aren't passing, it can draw attention to you and lead to people reading you.
I say do what ever you feel good doing! if you like wearing heels, then all I have to say is "you go girl!"
Love em! But not on me. :-*
I love heels. I love the way they make me look, they make me feel older and more 'in control,' and I love the clicking sound they make on the floor [I always have, ever since I was a kid]. I just won't wear them on the streets as an every-day kind of thing unless they're less than 3 inches and are very, very comfortable. :) And I'll only wear them every other day or so, because I don't want foot or knee problems when I'm older. I have these boots I just got that are really awesome, 2.5 inch heels and sooooo comfortable and real leather, I love them and I can wear them all day without my feet hurting. :) :D
The tallest heels I ever wore were four inches. I almost toppled over the first time I put them on, I had to practice with them around the house for a week before I was due to wear them at senior prom. But after I was used to them and knew how to balance properly, I danced in those damn heels. :D I really liked those, too, they were a metallic gold color and very strappy.
There is a point, though, where a heel is too high. Like, those 5-6 inch heels.. then it's not sexy anymore, then all I can think when I look at the poor girl is "wow that looks really, really painful."
Personally, I love heels and wear them almost every day including the weekend. I am tall and yes, I feel like I tower over most cisgendered females. However, there are 5 cisgendered females in my office that are taller than me, and still wear heels everyday to the office.(maybe my company just hires tall women) So I guess if you can pull it off and be comfortable in them, go for it.
Love the look, love how they make me look, sometimes being a 6'1 girl thanks to heels is fun...
as for wear them all day... you guys must have iron feet... they murder mine!
I'll take the flat sandals myself, but I am not particular about what someone else does. :)
Depends on my mood. Most of the time I prefer the comfort of regular shoes or sandals. Occasionally though I'll wear some heels. Although, I do love heels, they're just not the most comfortable things to walk in regularly. Plus, they make me like 5' 11" or something which makes me feel even taller than I already am.
I'm addicted to heels. I can't do without them. Once I was getting an outfit with a hemline several inches above my knee. I tried flats with it and the look was just all wrong for my legs. I always wear skirts and dresses, and now I saw that I had to wear heels with them. So I realized: I'm addicted to heels!
But I never go above 3 inches.
I'm 5'10", so in heels I stand 6'1". Which is good, I like looking down on the tops of everyone's heads. >:-)
I also love medium heels: 2 or 3 inches. They ... well, heels and hose make me feel feminine. What can I say! I'm 5-8, so I don't stand out too much. I like the look of 4" heels, but I've never had the nerve to wear them. When I've tried, I've been terrified that I'd fall and break something.
Like TamTam, I think 5 or 6 inch heels are too much. They're fetishwear. I don't object to fetishes, but I think they should be kept in private, between consenting adults.
I can't stand strappy sandals, though. Every time I've tried them, the straps cut into my feet, the shoe slides sideways on my foot, and I can barely walk. So I generally go for pumps -- preferably with instep or ankle straps, to help keep them on my feet.
I also like high-heeled boots; I think they're more comfortable than high-heeled shoes. Maybe that's because I have no fear that a boot will fall off, or I'll twist my ankle if I don't put my foot down exactly right.

One might draw that conclusion, however we all report to different people!
I love heels! However, I probably can not walk in them (my highest heels have the heel maybe one inch above the toe? Actually, I think it's more like two inches. Either way, heel practice is needed). My main problem with high heels is that they all have narrow toes. This is a general problem with all shoes, but it is more pronounced in high heels because the creators incorrectly assume that anyone wearing them is willing to be in extreme pain. Regardless, I usually prefer platforms anyway.
Adrian
They look wonderful, but I never wear them because I make my living on my feet so I have to be careful of them. Plus, I so rarely wear them that I don't walk very gracefully in them anymore. Real men dont eat quiche and real lesbians don't wear heels, right?
Adrian, there's lots of heels with wider toe boxes. :) I refuse to wear narrow shoes, my feet are way too wide and I don't have the pain tolerance to deal with blisters every time I walk. Most good, quality shoes come in wide-widths, and that goes for heels, too. Or you can always try a half-size larger than normal, that sometimes works for me, too.
I am a real gay woman and I wear heels. ;)
I like big boots and I cannot lie. ;)
Preferably knee length with vicious heels that could be used to punch a hole though time.
I doubt I could ever wear such things without causing a localised seismic event as I go, in a rather undignified manner, flat on my ass after two steps whilst racing the small red trickle from the nosebleed I'd get through being so high up in the first place.
But it's a nice thought. :)
If you love them, wonderful! but please, please, please do not bend your knees when you walk in them. There's nothing more distasteful than to see a woman walking in heels with her knees bent! Eeewww!
tink :icon_chick:
I don't think I've ever seen that, Tink. ??? Does that make me lucky? ;D
I LOVE heels, as was stated earlier I also love the way they sound, it gives me the feeling of being a powerful femme. It's a turn-on for me, but they have to be comfortable! I've had a few heels before that I had to give away because they just hurt too much. Right now I have two knee-high boots, an ankle-boot, two pumps, and a sandal. All except the sandal are narrow heels, I just love them. Don't ask how I can walk in them, I have no idea it just came naturally to me.

I've never worn heels, not even to try... the idea is kind of nice, but the reality is that my feet are at least a colossal size 16 extra-wide (women's, US), and I need to get shorter, not taller.
Love 'em...but rarely wear them out, as they make me too tall.
Great for making your male feet look smaller...
I preffer the extra ankle support of boots, and love them with a pair of skinny jeans.
...but why do they have a mgnetic attraction for the cracks in the sidewalk? :icon_yikes:
Chrissty
I also enjoy 2- 3 inch heels
Something in a Jimmy Choo or Paul Smith. I couldnt wear them all the time "cry" but they put me back to normal height which is nice.
Tam Tam and Jenn: I just meant what I said. There are some women out there who can't straighten their legs when walking in heels, and as a result they bend their knees, perhaps in an effort not to lose balance?
Whatever the case...walking in heels with your knees bent.... looks....just....*sighs*....waaaaaaay tacky. Bottom line? if you don't know how to walk in heels, either learn how to do it or do not wear them at all. (and incidentally, the *you* is impersonal ;))

Heels totally rule.
I don't give a rat's backside that they put me close to 6'6" - my relationship with heels is a "Til death do us part" deal.
If you are tall, own your height. Make it work for you.
Don't let it own you instead.

I think I know what you mean, but the only time I have really seen it be obvious was in an old "Tubes" in concert video, and the movie "Switch"...exept when walking across "soft" surfaces, when we all have no choice in the matter.
Seems like everyone over here in th UK not wearing trainers, has gone to flat ballerinas and low heal courts for daywear at the the moment, (except for "corporate" and party wear).

LOL, I hear ya. But while I've managed to own my flat-footed 6'2" height, I dunno about heels. I'm terrified to do anything that might ruin my passing :(
So... I stick to flats or low heels (under 2").

Even if you were 6'8", I can guarantee that there are taller women out there.
I actually get slightly miffed if I'm not the tallest woman in the room.
Most women would kill to be your height.
I love heels, so long as they are comfortable, look good, and don't ruin my hose. (I know, pipe dream on the last one).
I prefer a low heel, about 1-2" at most. I'm 5'8", and I want to stay under 6' with heels. Plus, I can be on level ground, wearing flat shoes, and still manage to twist my ankle. Any higher than 2" and I am taking my life in my own hands (which is dangerous under the best of circumstances!).
I love any type of shoes, really. Strappy heels and boots are my favorites, though.
Angela
Edited to correct height. You'd think I know how tall I am!
I love heels as well, though i don't wear them much. I hate my height, and don't want to look taller, even though i'm only 5'8 which is pretty common nowadays.
Having said that, I'm not so sure anymore that wearing heels makes all that much difference - I'm tall in flats and tall in heels - an extra couple of inches doesn't make all that much difference to your height.
And when it comes to passing Kate, i think maybe its more likely that people will just think you're a tall girl in heels than trans.

Spoil-sports! :P
Love heels like most 2 - 3 inches I'm not real tall 5'8" so even with 4" heels I don't stand out much, but my 6 inch "F" me pumps do put me over 6 foot. Heels kinda takes away from my soccer mom look, more towards a librarian look ;D
I like heels ..... typically the 2-3" variety mostly. I am a little over 5'7" tall so some heel makes me look a little taller and thinner, which isn't necessary a bad thing - elongates the body.
My favorites are boots of any style. I have a couple pair of calf high boots, but I've had the knee high and also the slightly over ankle high boots and I love them all. If only I had the unlimited budget and I would have all the shoes I so dearly want. Sigh.
I am 6' and I try to find 3 or 4 inch heels. I even have A 6 inch heel that are my favorits

I don't really like heels, but I'll admit that I have tried to wear something with heels recently. I wouldn't be surprised if I was bending my knees. It probably would explain why I kept having accidents. But then again I tend to trip over my feet... :embarrassed:

Exactly what I was thinking buddy!
Love heels!! 2", 3", 4". I've never worn anything over 4". I'm wishing I didn't "donate" everything I owned a year ago. I miss my wardrobe so-o-o much. On the other hand, I get to shop again!!!! YAY!!
Love them like no tomorrow!
But, I cant go for more then a few hours with them before I loose feeling in my feet.
Love them tremendously and what they do for the figure and posture. 2-3" at most can walk in them all day and love it. I used to think I had wide feet but for some reason most feel comfortable. But at 5-11" I don't wear them as much as I'd like, guess I watch too much ''what not to wear'' and don't think it's 'size appropriate' lol, but really who cares lol. I think after some work gets done (ffs etc...) I'll wear them more often.
I loooove them - it really helps out on my walk and generally getting in the right frame of mind :)
I love heels too. I'm 6'1", so I usually wear 2 to 3" heels. I'd love to wear 6"! I can wear heels for much of the day without difficulty, but most of the time I wore flats when I was out.
Hey Linda, like you I "donated" all my clothes and shoes some time ago. I'm building the wardrobe back up again and heels are definitely on the list!
Being 6'1" also, this was a serious issue I had to work through. I absolutely love heels, and I tend to wear them every day. I hate flats, having been socially required to wear them for 38 years. They just make me feel too... boy. Not to mention that most of the female style flats make my feel look like boats, which heels do not. But yes, they certainly draw attention. Being passable helps quite a bit, but it's still an issue you have to work past. Wear what you like, I say, and ignore what people think. You'll be more confident in clothing you are comfortable in.
I love 'em
I remember putting on my first pair of heels and trying to walk without looking like
I have lost all control of my legs
Now if there is a sale, watch out credit card its spending time, I now have more heels
than my GF.....crazzzy!
These are my favorite ones to wear, however the red ones which are 4" are difficult to
wear for long periods. The ruffo's on the left are the shoes I have to have, it is already my
third pair... oh how I love those shoes.

One thing that I noticed is that the heels really helped me to perfect my walk.
Hmmm! I wonder if there is a sale going on right now :eusa_think:
Nicole
At first I was afraid to wear heels. Then I found a pair of shoes that I just love. They are much easier to walk in than I expected. Now I'm thinking about getting more
Heels are joy, Im getting through that nervous am-I-going-to-stack-it-any-second-now feeling and can relax my hips enough to give them abit more sway.
I have about 10 pairs but only one or two are comfortably worn in so far!! My favourite is a pair of 4 inch black knee-high boots.
Open toe are evil >:-)
Right now, I have two sets of heels - one that is open-toe (basically a lot of straps attached to a heel) and one that is a set of knee-high boots, which I love. ESPECIALLY with the way the weather keeps shifting here.
I'm looking at getting one more set of boots from a friend - red and black patent leather ones that would go well for a fetish night more than anything else, but I also know just where to wear them at :)
Laura
Nicole, those heels on the left in your pic are sweet! I've always liked that kind, but I don't even know what that style of shoe is called. Heck, I've never even worn girl shoes before...
I might not know the first thing about clothes or shoes, but I know I want a pair of those :)
Hi Kaitlyn,
Those are MUDD Ruffo's. I did buy them at a shoe store called SHOE DEPT but I had to search a little.
(guess they are sorta popular around my area and not the easiest shoe to find)
anyway if you goto mymuddworld.com (http://mymuddworld.com), the shop link lists the stores that sell
MUDD brand shoes. I don't wear dresses that often, mostly stretch flare jeans. L.E.I.
is my favorite and those style shoes compliment the jeans oh so well.
Happy shoe shopping
*hugs* Nicole
Oh, I SO hope I can get them in my size... their "squee!" factor is off the charts.
I have a thing for really expensive designer heels. Christian Louboutin oh dear. ;D
I prefer a pair of wedges. Much more comfy to walk around in, but still look good with a skirt.
Love AND hate 'em, as most of the others have indicated. With some outfits I find them absolutely necessary, though, because I'm proportionally long-waisted and the extra leg length balances the look. So what if they make me 6' 2"? Being beautiful is all about compromises ;).
I love heels (as much as I can without ever having worn them), but I'm worried that I'll have a hard time finding any women's shoes in my size. I believe I'm a women's 16 (US), extra-wide.
Maybe my feet will get a little smaller from the hormones? Possibly? Pretty please, oh hormone gods?
EDIT: I could also try trimming off some toes... we don't need all of them, right? >:-)
My shoe size went down from 10½ to 9½ on HRT.
I love heels....
.....but my head and door frames are not so sure... :icon_yikes:
I don't care for them much myself. I am a little clumsy and tend to want to keep things more comfortable. Still, a handful of outfits seem to make them obligatory, so I will see what I can do to have a wide base and not too much height.
As for what anyone does, I'm not particular.
When I started dressing again after a long hiatus, putting on a nice pair of pumps with about a 4" heel was the most wonderful feeling. Yes, hard to walk in, but so feminine. They felt very right.
Love heels. I think I have six or seven pair. But like many people I am tall. 72 inches. 72+4=76 So I am about 6ft 4in while wearing heels. Attracts alot of attention in public. But I like attention. Genevieve
I beleive a pair of hot pink heels are in order. Yes!
Love em! Mostly for clubbing though, not too practical for day to day wear. Im a big fan of Mary Janes. Have both of these, plus a bunch of other platform boots and MJs. They range from an inch to 4 inches. Too hard for me to walk in anything more than 4 inches. Guess I should stop complaining about my height. Im 5'7". At least in Germany I see a lot of women taller than me.

My feet also shrunk from HRT. Went from a 10 in womens to a 8 1/2 - 9.
Love heels. I'm 6 ft. without shoes. It's fun being a tall woman. Now I need another pair. Sexy Shoes online has a very pretty pair of pink pumps. The price is right. Shoes are available in large sizes also. Some up to 15. If I expect to walk a long distance I use a large purse so I'll have flats and heels. Not very lady like to carry spare shoes but I don't care. One never knows what may be found in a woman's purse.
Personally I loathe them on others and on myself, have never been out with a girl who wears heels in my whole life!
The vast majority of women have an extremely unattractive walk in heels IMHO, then there's that noise <shudders> :o
I hate actual heels, but don't mine a shoe that has a platform-type heel. However, since my bf is an FTM and short as well, they've kinda left as an option from my wardrobe unless he miraculously grows a few more inchest lol.
I dislike regular heels, but I LOVE stiletto heeled boots, thigh highs  >:-)
Heels are teh win, but no fetish wear, platform boots, or pink anything - I'm quite plain-Jane :P
I used to wear them prior to transition (crossdressing), however heels reminded me too much of those days until recently so I didnt wear them for a long time. Now I will wear heels with the right outfit. It just depends on what you are wearing. If they fit the outfit then Im all for them.
What girl, GG or TG, doesn't like the way they look?? Practical is the reality for me! For me, 2 to 2-1/2" are great, easier to walk in and yet retain some femininity! I would love the taller heels, they can be sooooooooooooooooooooooooo sexy, yet, pain and stilt -walking inhibit my use of them. I love the clicking of the heels too!! There are so many great resons for heels, wedges are good, they retain some of the femininity of the heel. Wedges on sandals are good too, and can be very flirty and feminine! This time of year, really begins my excitement for colors and dresses and wedged sandals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :P

Well, you're Muslim. Maybe you're thinking of the prohibition on noisy shoes in the Qur'ān verse 24:31?...
وَلا يَضْرِبْنَ بِأَرْجُلِهِنَّ لِيُعْلَمَ ما يُخْفينَ مِنْ زينَتِهِنَّ...and the women should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments...

Ankle bracelets... I love them :)
Hi,
I'm just starting out in transition.
I've always loved the fashion options that gg's have, including heels.
I went for some gusto with the first few pairs, 3.5 inch la- cheapa pumps.
Already can tell that they help posture and walk.
Quick question in case any girls have an idea. Where does about 5 foot ten and size 9.5 women shoes fit in on natale female scales? The fit is a little tight out of the box... will have to see over time. Maybe a 1/2 size larger in the long run.
Yes, I am grateful for the smaller feet.
Michelle.

Yes they do. They pretty much force you to walk with poise and grace, or else. :) Learn to glide smoothly in heels, it makes an excellent impression.

You have my height and shoe size exactly. I wear 9½W. Try the wide ones. If you increase the length longer than your size they're liable to slip right off. Increase the width instead and see if that doesn't suit you.
I just got my first pair in the mail today (actually two, got white and black in different styles) and I love them. Walking in them isn't too hard but will definitely take some practice to make it look good. I wear 11 wide which are sort of near the large zone, but I'd probably fit better in 10/5 wide if they made them. Also depends on socks vs no socks etc, way more than with mens shoes.
Thank you--Hypatia,
Yes going up to "W" makes sense over a size increase.
BTW I got them thru the payless website.
Their site has a cool shoe size print out feature.
You too can have your very own at home sizer.
Love them
Wearing about 2" in my avatar. But walk a few miles and it's not fun. And I've had a lot of practice ;)
I wear flats with 3/4 and cargo pants. Flats look terrible on me with skirts.
And I luuuv boots, but they HAVE to have heels. Ankle or knee.

Agh, I hate that noise. I remember all my female teachers who would wear shoes like that and walk around the classroom while we were supposed to be working; couldn't concentrate at all. But platforms don't make that noise, and wider-heeled shoes don't if you walk correctly.
They look awesome, but I don't have the nerve to wear them.
hey girls, I just wanted to pass on a site that I have recently been purchasing a lot of shoes/heels from. I've gotten some nice platforms and 4" heels and some really cute wedges that have become my new favorites this spring :)
it's cutesygirl dot com if you want to check them out. the tops and dresses are also really cute and prices are good too :) the only problem is sizing. most shoes are availble up to a size 10, but none are wide and they run a little bit small. I'm normally a 9.5-10 and these 10s should actually be 10w so order accordingly.
I have to say heels are awesome the higher the better. Funny thing, when I tell my wife she should wear heels with that outfit she sometimes responds with heels hurt you should wear them...umm I would no problem.
Love, love, love! I can do 4" but its a big difference between doing 4" when you foot is size 6 and size 10 (me)! I got some new 3" heels for $20 w/shipping and they're my new favorites. Figured I'd share where I got them:

The prices may seem a little expensive at first, but if you sign up for their email discounts you get crazy low prices... but you have to pay attention. What they do is they send out emails where the prices are super low (12.95-19.95), but they only last for one day! They have sizes up to 12W on some shoes, depending on brands. But shoes that were out of stock in larger sizes on other sites were in stock on 6pm. They also sell clothes and stuff there, but those aren't nearly as cheap.
Love them. I would wear them all the time if I could.
I can do about 2 3/4 very easily, and the ones in my avatar are a bit over that at nearly 3 1/2 inches. They cause me a bit of pain if I wear them too much.
I have these shoes that I would never have chosen as I lean toward the more flashy heals (like my avatar), but I was in Kohls looking for a Denim skirt which I didnt find, and I happened to wander through the shoes by accident. Yeah right! I was pretty disappointed at the selection of shoes available, and was about to leave the shoe section when a pair caught my eye. They were similar to a pair I had seen a young lady trying on only minutes before, so I figured what the heck, and tried them on. I was in heaven. Never before had I found a pair of heals that fit that well. It was like they were made for me. I dont usually like the wedge style, but it is growing on me. I'll see if I can link a pic...

I do like to wear some sort of hose with my heals though, I hate the way that they stick to me if I dont.
I now despair of ever finding shoes. I'm a size 16W
OMG.
I guess I am lucky. I fit in that the top of the normal range of womens shoes, at a size 11, and I am finding that some of those can be a bit large. Maybe I'll have to look at some 10.5 wides.
I usually wear US women's size 10, or 10W, or 265 mm. Fortunately, compared with my height (6 feet), my foot is relatively small. However, the largest size in my country is mostly 255 mm, and I should order special ones for my size. So, I never purchased high heels here. All I have now are from the U.S.
Also, in the U.S., there are some confusions on women's shoe size, especially for high heel pumps. Thus, usually I wear 4-inch high heels sandals, even in winter.
I love this one:
http://125.247.198.61/bbs/upimg/fishery/4inch_sandal.jpg (http://125.247.198.61/bbs/upimg/fishery/4inch_sandal.jpg)
About 6 years ago, my wife purchased this for me at priceless shoes at about $20. It is very endurable, and I still sometimes wear it.
The next one is what I purchased from amazon.com about 6 years ago. Original prices was > $200, but I got it at $30 or something:
http://125.247.198.61/bbs/upimg/fishery/4inch_strap.jpg (http://125.247.198.61/bbs/upimg/fishery/4inch_strap.jpg)
And the one that I have never worn outdoors. Sigh... It is 5-inch pump. First I ordered a size 10 through the internet and it was too small. I returned it and get size 11. It is still small to my feet. I barely could wear it, but with silk stockings, it is easier to wear. It just served as my occasional fetish toy indoors:
http://125.247.198.61/bbs/upimg/fishery/5inch_heel.jpg (http://125.247.198.61/bbs/upimg/fishery/5inch_heel.jpg)
For 5-inch pump, I guess plus 2 to my normal shoe size would be better (I mean size 12W 5-inch pump would be mine). Nevertheless, I hope to wear this one for some kind of party with my old friends. Not for walking for > 30 minutes.

I'm with the ones who say "love them...on someone else." I'm the sort whose managers are just happy that the visible parts of my motorcycle boots, which double as my work shoes, are all black.
Chinese Laundry...nuff said.
I have the I-shoes app on my I-phone if that tells you something.
Oh and I-bags. Good stuff ;D
I -love- them.
and being a size 15 in womens, it's hard to find what I like... but I manage to always dig up somethin good.
my most recent purchase being a pair of snazzy 3" Black vinyl gogo boots.
Absolutely LOVE heels! I like flats and sandles, but heels are my favorite. I usually wear a size 10 in womens, but because my feet are narrow (thank goodness!), I can sometimes fit into a 9-1/2 on some shoes. I much prefer stilettos, though not over 4" (much too painful >.<).
Oh, and Barbie, that 4 in sandal is too cute! I'm going to have to find me a pair :).

About 6 years ago, my wife purchased it for me at priceless shoes in the U.S. I remember it costed about $20, and is endurable as I still wear it (probably so seldom I wore it, but I tend to walk a lot). Today I searched it, but could not locate it. I am so forgettable and hopefully will find it to wear frequently this summer.

Im 5ft 3 so dont really fell to tall if i wear 5-6" heels but yeah i love them <3 =]
5'3"!!!
Jealous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love heels, and am not that worried about being "too tall" in them but at my weight, they do kill my feet. Still, I don't feel dressed up without heels.
I used to love high heels, but now that I'm older I prefer flats or even sneakers.
can't stand them.
of course this has absolutely nothing to do with the fact tham i'm 6 foot in flats and can barely stand up straight in heels, let alone walk in them
LOVE them.
My current favs are my 3' heel Harley Boots.
I wear them every chance I get.
hate 'em
would need a 13Wide if I were ever to wear girl shoes. was so glad my big feet stopped parents from ever buying me girl shoes.
OMG!! How did I miss a shoe thread?!!? I has a thing for shoes. :)

I regularly wear 4'-inch heels to work, and in a recent vlog with Meghan, we measured the heels I had on at 5 inches! I loves me some heelage.
Damn, girl! I keep it at 3.5" max. Any more and I look like a wounderd giraffe!

You seem to be addicted to heels!
I have more heels than my wife, but still the number is less than 10.
Yesterday, my 5-yr daughter urged her mom to wear heels before going out, but my wife insisted flat sandals. My daughter still coaxed her mother, and my wife explained that it is safer to wear flat ones while driving.
If my daughter urged me, then I would happily wear them.

I dunno... I just love them. I think they give me a very attractive presence! But who knows... maybe I look like a train wreck but no one says anything...

That's doubtful, Sweety
Well sweetie,
I wear an 11b woman's shoe size, I have high heel straps and pumps. Varying from 3 to 5 inches. They make me feel great when I wear them, but I must admit, just like nylons... they feel great on me for the first few hours, but after a while... I can't wait to get them off!!!!
At my age, I prefer flats
Love
Brenda
Being 6'1" I would just as soon stay away from anything that makes me taller, but.... it is near impossible to find size 13 women's shoes, and the ones I have been able to find almost all have a 1-2" heel. Go figure. :P That being the case, my usual work shoes are a pair of heels that fit me well, and I do like the way they feel. :) The tapping noise is a nice reminder of my femininity. ;D
After rain today, I wore my favorite 2.5 inch high heel sandals.
It's not sexy, but very comfortable!

In my country, they usually sell women's shoes up to 255 mm (US women's 8??). As it is difficult to wear high heels at my work place, I searched the internet to find a nice pair of flat sandals (265 mm, US women's size 10). In online shopping mall, it advertises as 'Big size sandals' and charges extra money equivalent to US $3. It's about just US $20.

Of course, I ordered black ones, and hopefully wear with black skinny jeans. I am very glad that I could get shoes of my size here at affortable price in my country.
I will attend a formal meeting this week, and will try the new sandals!

i love 4-6in. ;) (heels)
i just feel like a giant and opt for flats and sandals
I'm a great fan of them myself, and sandles are nice, i find they don't hurt as much as close toes shoes, but that's just me. I have found them almost simple to walk in and rarely lose my balance, and the two pairs I have at the moment are 4" tall, putting me at 6' exactly. I don't mind being so tall, I enjoy how my hips sway, my body moves in the heels, its just wonderful.
Yknow, i never really had to teach myself how to walk in them, it just worked for me. idk weird
i loooove heels lol. i only wear heels when going out. during the day i may wear wedges open toes or something.... im rather short so i use them for the height, plus they are super cute.... after a good couple of hours your feet are good and numb and you no longer feel the pain lol.
I'd love to have a pair of 6" pink heels for a photo shoot. They are not made for walking. I asked a gal who has some if she could walk in them and she said as far as the bathroom and back.
If your feet hurt, the shoes don't fit. I have a pair of shoes I used to wear to work every day for a while. I'd get back to my car, take them off, and scream a string of obscenities as I painfully flexed each of my big toes for the first time that day. Now I have nice shoes that fit and the difference is night & day!

It really does, I like the open toed myself, they are infinitely more comfortable for me at least, cute looking too.
Heels don't agree well with me. I haven't been able to find a lot of high heels that have fit my large feet, and when I do they are rather uncomfortable. Instead, I wear flip flops or slip ons, when I go out as a girl.
I do not *like* heels, but I do like to wear them ;)
I LOOOOOVE heels so much!
I can't live without them.
My favorite subject - guess I have a shoe fetish.
I used to say that "comfortable womens shoes" was an oxymoron until a few years back I discovered wedges.
Cute!!

do men and women have diffent shaped feet?
When i go shopping for girl shoes i tell them my guy size but when they try to work out what i should be in a girl shoe i end up having to go up another two sizes to get it wide enough? i'm about a 6.5 mens and a 10 ladies which isn't supposed to match up (a 9 or 9.5 in ladies if it's "sensible shoes").
I do love looking at girly shoes but i just don't have the masochism (or foot shape?) to actually wear them. I used to like to try to find nice feminine shoes for those rare occasions when i felt like showing my feminine side, but i gave up. I decided it was a case of "i like it, but not on me". Now i just window shop and don't even bother trying on.
Actually what i really love is having a subtle heel on more macho shoes. On a great big boot, like a motorcycle boot or a military GP, even an ueber-macho guy could get away with at least 2" extra. I actually like the man-ify-ing height effect of heels for my purposes. I usually go for sensible shoes with a deceptively large heel and given i'm not really small to begin with this puts me eye-ball-to-eyeball with all except the tallest blokes. People tend to over-estimate my height by a fair bit too.
I like people seeing me as tall, except one time when a 6'4" guy siad i was "pretty tall, for a chick", i don't like anything with a "for a female" qualifier on it... grrrr...

.....
There is a difference in the shape of women's and men's feet. It has more to do with width than anything else (women's feet are more narrow and somewhat elongated). But the variation between people makes up for all the difference between the average "male" and "female" foot!
Yes, you normally go up two sizes, women's sizes are smaller. If you have wide feet you may need to go farther. Of course, there is also variation in how big a size X is between the different companies... thankfully not as much as in clothes though !!!
You may have to find women's shoe stores that specialize in larger feet to find shoes that fit well. Start at Payless and ask around.

he he, finally a non-obscenely-feminine shaped part of me :-) i alwayse wonderred if i had guy-shaped feet. I think they are kinda short and wide and guy shoes definately fit better.

OOOhhhh! What size are you? I can see a closet raid in the making. Totally jealous.
Heels? Yes please! I think I am in the average heel camp of 2-3 inch heels. Haven't tried (dared) anything in 4" plus range. At 5'9" I don't really feel the need to go 6'1" or more and with notoriously week ankles and torn tendons to prove it, I'm not taking the risk.

amazingly enough my girl size and guy size are about the same, i always found this weird, but im not complaining, if u jumped up two sizes i would be a size 13 womens which is hard to find, so i guess im lucky, no complaints here
the pairs of heels i have are 4 inch for two of them, and two inch for one of them. my fav are the black strappy 4 inch ones, they are not only cute, but actually quite comfortable

Say hello to another weirdo! I actually usually wear a *smaller* size in womens than mens! (10 vs 10.5) although for some brands I go to 11. I'm really addicted to the 4 inch height, which is pushing it a little, at 5'8 ish I go to 6'0" but that's not so bad. I have a few that are 2.5 or so but my favorite is a 4" i got from kmart online for $15 and they're more comfortable than any of the others. Oh, and the other issue is that I have yet to find a pair of flats in my size and price range that don't look ugly or tacky, so heels it is.
I'm the same height, 5'8", and i dont get self concious about my height, it would be nice to be shorter, but meh, im happy. I actually like the height increase, and they make me feel so sexy
LOVE THEM!! stilletos 3 inch is good for me... anything higher and i'll be wayyyy too tall lol
for some reason they make me feel powerful!
I agree, my feet always feel huge when I wear flats. Even a small heel gives the impression of a smaller foot. Mind you for me, it it the higher the better >:-)
I can't answer this question , never had a chance to try any on yet :( :( :(
i like both flats and heels, I have about half and half of them, but i prefer the feel of heels, sure at the end of the day my toes are a little bit sore from the angle they were at while walking, but its not painful or anything and thats to be expected
I loooooove my heels. Every last pair!!
I added a picture of my newest picture to my gallery.
I absolutely love heels and would wear them much more often and out publicly if I had the confidence to do so. My favorites are all 5".
Heels are what make my femme experience.
I'm 5'8" so a set of 4 inch heels works.
Who cares about the foot hurting or whatever - these are heels we are talking about :)
I love heels, but due to a dodgy disc in my back, they HATE me, dammit.
I'm 6'3'' and would love to be a glamazon in long stilletto boots. :(
I love 'em! I'm 5'10 so 6'2 with them most of the time but I don't care. I don't usually get looks nowadays anyway.
The bad thing is my BF is taller than me when in flats but shorter when I'm in heels haha.
I have a feeling that happens to a lot of us, I know my BF is only like an inch taller than me in flats
I've changed my mind recently on stilletoes...as my favorite pair of heels I have are stilletoes ^_^ So yeah, I love all types of heels now. Wedges, stilletoes, platforms, knee high, thigh high, ankle high, and ESPECIALLY Demonica boots ^_^
I love heels, when I can wear them. I still can't wear them and it's irritating because I love heels! Especially heeled boots!
I've slowly been letting myself get into other things besides heels hehe.
I have been wearing high wedged flipflops a bunch lately with my capris and I just bought the cutest pair of clogs yesterday!
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE HEELS. <3 The higher the better. So many shoes that I wouldn't wear because it's too short lol.
I love my heels, what girl doesn't. I find 3 inch to be comfortable for all day wear. 4 inch are good if they have some padding otherwise a few hours wear is enough for me. The most comforatable shoes I have are a 3 inch black peep toe wedge, do they count as heels?
LUV `EM! Unfortunately I can't do stilettos, though--just a little uncomfortable for me.
Now that I'll be moving out of the house and the awkwardness of living with family.... I'm going to buy a nice pair of nice heels ftw!!!

Yes. Despite blister, pain, and potential injury, it is always thrilling to wear > 4-inch heels in the street. But not for everyday, just occasional events. Oh. I do not care my height.
Barbie~~
Love, love, love them too. Only 5'6", so i can get away with taller ones, but 4" is where I top out on the "can walk in them" meter. My favorites are my blue suede Steve Madden Trinitie. Can't wait until I am free to wear them outside of the house.
Went to Harrods in London yesterday and saw so many beautiful shoes and clothes. Saw so many high end brands like YSL etc. Louboutin's had their own special place. First time I had seen them outside of celebrity magazines. Thought I had died and gone to heaven. Of course, at $500+ a pair, it would take divine intervention to afford some of my own!
i like them, but i'm tall as well. i'm 5'11, which is why i stick with flats.
Well . . . I love heels on girls.
Actually, I'm quite fond of heels. I do like to wear them occasionally, but I'd much rather see another girl in them because I find heels kind of sexy.
It really depends. If they're like wedges and they're not all that girly, sure I'll wear them, but I'd have be wearing something a bit more masculine with them.
I'm blessed with size 7 uk...or 40 uk feets...
Which means I can get Jimmy choo and Manalo B's to fit....
But only for key occasions not prancing down Andrassy ut, or 5th of an evening....well okay I did but only post supper...lol
And then only a wee way till grabbing a cab....
Killer shoes are for display....not trekking in.....surely?
Love Love Love Heels.
Although I do keep a pair of flats in the car for driving. I also have small feet, size seven.

AUGH, my footses!
I wore heels out today. Pebbles can attest to how ridiculous this was. :P I started out pretty awkwardly - it's been a while since I practised, and that was indoors. I remembered advice from countless places, though - walk with your hips, heel-toe, shoulders back - and got a nice rhythm going. I loved this bit! If you'd asked me how I feel about heels I'd have beamed at you during this time.
10 minutes around the town centre and my feet might as well have been aflame. I have quite a chunky 'knuckle' on both big toes, which has caused me problem with mens' shoes in the past too. That does not enjoy being rubbed against the rim of a court heel. My toes were getting squished as gravity conspired to slide me back to a flat walking position, and the middle of my sole got rubbed as a result. Basically, I find that heels hurt bits of my feet I never knew could hurt before. :P
I may resign myself to being a 'heel appreciator'.

for a few years I was a regular on a chatroom with one person who claimed to be able to drive and walk miles in 6inch heels. We all doubted it but had no way of finding the truth.
I've had ankle surgery from old accident but I can manage 3 inch heels all day usually.
2.5-3 inch heels are comfortable and also very effective in emphasizing leg lines. However, some vanity sometimes entices me to wear > 4-inch heels that allow hardly me to walk for >1 hour.
Yesterday I wore 2.5 inch high heels sandales, and I could even dance in a bar.

See Kaelin's picture here? Sandals like that are exactly what I like to wear myself. My gender counselor said that I should wear heels and said that I have the legs for them and such. So, why don't I? One, I'm dressing androgynously now and am not yet even part-time, though I'm about to be soon, thanks to Janet Lynn! ;) Also, I'd be clocked in an Oregon hearbeat if I wore heels. :P
If I was younger, then, heck yes, I'd so wear them! :D
I only wear heels about 3 times a year and I hate every second of it. They hurt! I have yet to find a pair that I can stand to wear for more than an hour without wanting to sit down and hurl them out the nearest window.
The higher the better. ;D
I love the way heels look on ladies, but at the same time don't understand why they go through so much discomfort just to wear them.
According to some I ask it is because they are indoctrinated my males into wearing them.... right.
If I want to be completely honest I have to admit that I wore a pair of heels a couple of years ago. It is a long story, and in short it was because a female coursemate wanted to see if I could fly an aircraft (simulator obviously) wearing heels. I agreed if she would provide the shoes.
Walking in them was no problem, walking down stairs however was more difficult and running proved to be impossible. After an hour or so in the sim they started to hurt, but this may be because they were too small. In the end flying an aircraft proved to be very possible when wearing heels, it is just something you need to get used to (But I rather do it barefeet).
Why do women torture themselves this much?

Why do women torture themselves this much?
...cause we love the way they look. ;)
I love heels! Maybe less than 3 inches for now, higher than that I cannot balance myself :)
I love them. I never ever had a problem with them, took to them like a duck to water.
I'd wear them all the time if it were practical ;D

I loved them back when I was cd-ing around 8 years old and wasn't so tall as now. The future only holds me flats I'm afraid :)
g
I'm 6'2" and thought I'd either stay with flats or at the most a 1" wedge... But yesterday I got adventurous and bought a pair of black peep toes with 2-1/2" heals ;D
The sale was just to good to pass up ::)
Besides, my B-Day is next month and I need more than one pair of women's shoes :icon_chick: and I'm sure I can find other good excuses to justify spending the money :P
Whenever I wear bootcut jeans, I desire to wear heels.
Today I did not have many long trousers, and I picked a pair of black bootcut jeans to attend a wedding ceremony. I picked a pair of brown high heels, although I did not feel strongly to present myself as a woman. It was just to match with bootcut jeans.
A problem was that nobody mentioned my wearing heels. It was crowded, but ny colleagues, old friends, female college students... Nobody even joked about it. One guy just said like you look pretty today. Some strange people in the wedding hall just watched me.
No thrill with heels any more.

Maybe they just weren't high enough :)

i love them
but because of my height it puts me off wearing them :( so i hate them lol
Heels are a staple for me.
I'm 5'8.5"
I'm not self conscious about being tall lol.
The tall one is the leader.
::)
~Well, I'm 5'10 & 1/2 but I don't really have anything against heels... ;D I just LOVE boots way more. Knee-high boots FTW!
I used to be suuuuper neurotic about my height and how I'd never be as small & elfin as a lot of the girls I would see everyday; but I got over it and can honestly say I am now totally at peace with my height. I'm still neurotic about tons of other stuff, of course. ;)
LOVE THEM! :-)

Recently I realized that the most attractive fashion item for me is again heels. Stiletto heels are so much sexy. Sadly, I can not wear them freely, but sometimes I can enjoy wearing them in the street.

Considering how short I am.. Yes I do love heels a lot, well not ones that are like 6"+ :P.
Leather boots rock. I am 5' 81/2" also but I weigh over 170 lb.
I have not had a single pair of heels over 3" that lasted me for more than two days of wear.
I paid over $200 bucks for a kick ass Harley Davidson licensed pair of 3" heel ankle boots.
They lasted half way through the bus trip from Bismarck, N.D. to Portland, Or.
before the sole broke in half and made the heel buckle out sideways with every step.
I love the way heels look on me and some are just "simply to die for" but I can't
see spending the money on shoes I am only going to be able to wear for two days.
I never leave home without my heels.
Erika
Love them! :D
And I'm 5'11" and love my 4" sandals!
I can't stand wearing flats :P hehe
flats and make my feet ache after a few hours.
I pretty much live in 2-3" heels, even winter boots.
I love heels, being 5.5, I can wear 4inch heels all day with no problems.
I love them too.
It is a matter of how you put your set up together and how confident you are. :)
I love to wear them to a nightclub or party but I don't normally wear them during the day like to work and stuff. I own more heels than anything else though.
<--- has found very little use for them. Waste of money.
I love my heels and I can't go out without them. They complete my outfits and I just feel comfortable in them. I nornally dont go over 4 inch unless they have a platform.

Hmm...
I do like the way my legs look in heels, and they can be sexy/pretty.
However I'm 5'11'' and I do look very tall in them. Though strangley when I was at uni all thje blokes on my course were much taller than me, so I never looked out of proportion in heels and wore them quite often.
Now though I never wear them, I wear converse style shoes, or flat leather shoes. The only heels I do wear are very low 18th century reproduction womens shoes whch I love.
In the end I've had too many nights of going out and getting seriously sore feet and ending up walking home bear foot in London (not pretty I can assure you)
I keep a fold up pair of flats in my bag to walk home in, seems pretty common over here (Australia)
Bordello heels, aka a ->-bleeped-<-'s best friend.
if she likes heels, that is.
I love heels. I abhorred the idea of heels when I first wore them (14, woo). My mother made me get them to look "more professional" for debate. But if you search for a good pair of heels, they look nice, make your legs look nice, and are super comfortable. I actually prefer wearing my heels to tennis shoes sometimes because they feel more comfortable to me.
I LOVE HEELS! The higher the better.
Jennifer
QuoteHeels, love or hate them?
Hate them.
Depends on the outfit. I typically wear stilettos...
But yeah...I prefer boots.
I ADORE heels...wish I could wear them more.
