SAN FRANCISCO, Ca. (California Catholic Daily) - Fr. John Malloy's blog takes on Most Holy Redeemer parish -- again.

An acolyte and lector at San Francisco's Most Holy Redeemer Church was "married" to his homosexual partner last month, bringing to five the number of "persons serving in liturgical functions at MHR who have 'married' persons of the same sex," A Shepherd's Voice, the blog of Salesian Fr. John Malloy reports.

Although the post took place on Fr. Malloy's blog (http://johnmalloysdb.blogspot.com/2008/12/most-holy-redeemer-lectoracolyte.html), it appears to be authored by Gibbons J. Cooney.

I truly feel sorry for people such as Fr. Malloy and Mr. Cooney.; To be so brittle in their beliefs and so self-righteous in their opinions that they transform from being a messenger of Christ into a compassionless witch-hunter.

The particular beef this time? That a gay Catholic dare to be a lector in a Catholic church, a church which is located in the Castro neighborhood, the heart of gay San Francisco.

Please, if you can find it in you heart, pray for Fr. Malloy and Mr. Cooney. They need God's guidance.
