Title: Dr. Phil Playing Into Transphobia Once Again!

QuoteDr. Phil Playing Into Transphobia Once Again!

It seems Dr. Phil likes to capitalize on transgender misunderstanding and hatred on his show.

"You fool me once shame on you, you fool me twice shame on me"

We must commit to no longer stand idly by as Dr. Phil continues his knack and enjoyment for stigmatizing trans folks. He previously held a program on "Gender Confused Kids" even going so low as to bring in an "expert" from the queerphobic, anti-science & psychology Focus on the Family.

He has two upcoming shows that deal with transsexuality, and they are currently looking for guests.

One titled "Is It Wrong For a Little Boy To Wear Pink?" (http://www.drphil.com/plugger/respond/?plugID=12698)

Oh COME ON. Just the premise of the question "Is it wrong for a little boy to wear pink?" is so overtly sexist that I would think dear Doc Phil will be offending a much bigger swathe of people than just transsexed and homosexual ones. Aaargh!

One might hope that he intends to deconstruct some of the nasty stereotypes out there and demonstrate the difference between sexuality, identity, role and presentation clearly, but given his track-record, I won't be holding my breath.

My letter to that ->-bleeped-<-.

I wish the reputation system was still working.  I would have upped your rep for that eloquent statement!

What you write to Dr. Phil (and misspell a lot of simple words so he thinks his real fan base wrote it) is that the topic is boring and he should get back to putting the hurt on people who don't love their fat wives anymore, cause that was great television.

Ditto. I got a real laugh about Dr. Phreaking Phil being part of the "learned community" as well :P

Well you don't want to imply that he is in any way creating 'controversy' which is his stock and trade.  But the one thing that people in the industry hate and will do almost anything - nah, anything - to avoid, is being boring.

LOL agreed. Live slapmatches over fat sleazy husbands are SO much more his bread and butter than these depressing issues with transgender children.

Dear Docctor Phil,
Whatis up?  You used to be interesting but now the show sux.  I want to see people punishied for being bad but now all you seemt to do is have messed up kids on.  Thats no fun.  You can not hate them in same way.  ITs boring, go back to what you did that made you famous and be mean to bad people like who are fat or bald.

Ugh, he's not even licensed to practice, what a fraud. I loved it when the Bum Fights guy went on there dressed just like him.

The hilarity kicks in a 1:46

Used to be a fan, but not for the past year or so. He pretty much sucks now and I think he was really wrong on a lot of things. IMO of course.

this remind my of my parents saying: why do you wear fair colors? men always wear dark colors. you need to act more like a man.

i read some where that before it was the other way around with pink for boys and blue for girls.
