what would you describe as life's sweet simplicities? do we all have the same sweet simplicities? is it that just some of us take note of it, while others simply take advantage of it and just not acknowledge it?
I doubt we all have the same ones, and I bet we can have a good discussion about what the meaning of "simplicities" even is. But I'll have a go
-my bike and riding it, nice long ride around the lakes
-walking on the beach when its empty
-sitting deep in a redwood forest when its raining
-I like it when it rains and the creek outside my balcony really starts to flow
Breathing.
Chocolate
Picking and eating blueberries right off the bush while you're tired, hot, and hungry.
Laughing and joking with my guy about stupid things that no one on earth would find amusing. Watching a movie at night with a bowl of chicken soup in our hands and the apartment lights totally off. Playing with my cats and getting all scratched up in the process! :)

Totally embarrassing my 18 year old at a restaurant where he expressed an attraction to the waitress. He's so cute when he blushes. :)

"Stand in your own space and know you are there." The rest is and what happens.
Sunshine. Makes all the difference. ;)
- body functions
- I like watching my daughter breath as she sleeps
- picking my nose
- sitting in the garden I created
- Food - Fettacina tossed with a bit of fried butter, garlic and bacon topped with a touch of fresh Parmesan and black pepper, tequila slammers, tomatos on toast, home made bread and jam and other preserves, sorrel soup, capers and salmon, caper berries, hot lamb salads with good feta and a zingy vinaigrette, artichokes dipped in garlic butter, Brie and Camembert, burning BBQ pork spare ribs, sashimi with wasabi and soy....
watching that scene in Amelie where she breaks the creme brulee, one day that'll be me, I just love the sound, I can almost imagine it perfectly.
remember or finding out the name of a song thats been in your head for a long long time.
Watching a happy dog play in the snow.

seconded. and mine is so little, he gets lost in it.
Walking around outside on a nice day, snapping pictures that you never even really plan to look at.
The smell of wood smoke, a warm hut, hot chocolate, mac 'n' cheese, a soft mattress and a dry sleeping bag. Hard-earned.
Body: Softly fading into sleep after a warm bath. Far too often (like right now), I stay up until I'm completely wiped, as if to try to get as much wakefulness as possible out of my day.
Mind: Struggling to and succeeding at understanding something difficult always makes me feel well.
Spirit: Photographing people enjoying themselves is (while not necessarily simple -- I develop and prpint my own) amazing, for me at least. (And no, I don't mean porn. :P)
Those are mine, anyways.
A long warm bubble bath, with someone bringing refills of champagne.
Taking that first dip out of a brand new jar of creamy peanut butter.

Ah, but you have to be careful. Saw a news piece once that said you should never eat peanut butter off of a spoon, because you might choke on it. ::) *Jamie takes his life in his hands, and heads for the peanut butter jar*

Opening my eyes each day, and knowing that this day will be different than the one before.

Okay, this is random, but if you go to The AntiCraft (a crafting website), they have a whole issue on bacon. Bacon desserts, bacon bracelets, a knitted bacon scarf . . . all kinds of stuff.
Okay. My pleasures:
Laying in bed
Petting the cat
Enjoying rain
Walking, especially in the woods (where I get lost and end up in a graveyard!)
Having the right kind of junk food for the right mood (salty vs. sweet, crunchy vs. soft)
Tea with honey in it when I have a cold

... except for your partner ... 2000 feet above treeline ... 3000 feet of bottomless untracked powder stretching below you ... your tips hanging of the edge of the summit ridge ... high cirrus clous illuminated pink ... surrounding peaks bathed in violet ... one last look at the panorama before ...
