How many acts of violence does it take for acts of violence against a class of people to be considered an epidemic of violence against this class of people? How many acts of violence against this class of people must occur without police solving these crimes to be considered a rash of unsolved crimes against this class of people?
I don't know. I do know that three violent crimes against trans women of color in the same Tennessee city within the past six months where two of the victims died...when one of the victims was beaten by police while in police custody a few months earlier, leaves me feeling concerned. I do know it leaves me wondering what the City of Memphis itself, and the people in the City of Memphis are doing to protect the lives of its trans citizens of color, and what the city is planning on doing in the future to stop the violence...to stop the killings.

it is my belief that it will take utterly genocide, and even then i don't think anything will be done then. >:( :( "normal" people don't want to recognize us as people and will do everything they can to make sure we are never recognized as anything more than an abomination to life. >:( :(
Memphis is a transportation hub with 10's of thousands of truck drivers pass through each day. Many look for sex and many transient prostitutes supply them. A trans-gender prostitute is more likely to run into a pistol carrying redneck that does not want to be deceived. Then is gone in a flash as police have nothing to go on. For everyone's safety do not practice prostitution anywhere your life is more important than easy money. Police can never stop prostitution nor can they stop drugs and the under-culture. It is up to the individual to take care of themselves.
