I just can't seem to get this quote of Rick Warren's out of my mind probably because he is one of the many who finds the Bible inerrant and "the true church" infallible;

    "I'm opposed to redefinition of a 5,000-year definition of marriage," Warren told Beliefnet.com's Steve Waldman. "I'm opposed to having a brother and sister being together and calling that marriage. I'm opposed to an older guy marrying a child and calling that marriage. I'm opposed to one guy having multiple wives and calling that marriage."

Inerrancy is the view that when all the facts become known, they will demonstrate that the Bible in its original autographs and correctly interpreted is entirely true and never false in all it affirms, whether that relates to doctrine or ethics or to the social, physical, or life sciences.

Infallibility means, literally, immunity from error. In Christian theology, the term is applied to the whole church, which, it is believed by many Christians, cannot err in its teaching of revealed truth because it is aided by the Holy Spirit.

I think i get it... The bible had alot of incest and stuff, but where in the scriptures did it say that it was ok? (This is not a retorical question, i'd quite like to know)  The issue i have with the bible, is that its not one set of opinions the whole way through but more a jumble of conflicting opinions, or so it seems to me anyway

Quoteor so it seems to me anyway

That is because some parts are a combination of several writers. They have copied parts of paragraphs cut and pasted different sentences together. One clue to this is the different names used for God.

Oh yeah I get that lol, just trying not to offend people, they tend to get kinda cruel over technicalities when they can't see who they're running down huh?

Here you have an example:

QuoteA male rapist and his victim: Deuteronomy 22:28-29 If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found; Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.

A rapist has to marry his victim and pay her father. That is the right course ("ok") to take.

More:

QuoteA male soldier and a female prisoner of war:Numbers 31:1-18 describes a war against the Midianites where they killed all but the virgin girls, in 31:16-18 we see that the girls were spared so they could be "wives" of the soldiers: Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD. Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.

QuoteA man, a woman and her slaves Again in Genesis 29-30, Jacob not only had two wives, his wives each gave him their slaves to have sex with him and bore several children to him. In Genesis 16 Sarah gave her slave Hagar to Abram so that they could have a child. The slaves would have had no say in this at all, so today we would consider this rape.

wow, see i never read much further than umm forgot the names of the books lol. I did read the first 6 or 7 books of the bible and down that end it was all, if a man lays down with a beast... forget what happens to the man, but i always thought it was creul that they would stone the animal to death for being unclean... Wait... isnt Duteronomy the fifth book? Huh, I must have read it, though 'the new world translation of the holy scriptures' or jehovahs wittness bible might be slightly different from the christian bible

Another thing is the king James version tried to keep a poetic sound by putting in words of slightly different meanings.
