Champ had sex change The winner of October's RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship for women, Lana Lawless, a bartender from Palm Springs, has revealed she was once a man.
"This is who I am. This is my life," Lawless told Golfweek. "That other person, that 245-pound SWAT cop I used to be, he's gone. He's not coming back."
Lawless, 55, who was once married but fathered no children, underwent a sex-change operation and passed all of the medical tests to prove she was a woman for the competition.
It still isn't sitting well with some.
Does that strike anyone else as kind of odd? I mean, usually whenever there's news of a TS playing in, and especially winning, sports then it makes the headlines. This is just such a small little paragraph in their article. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, since there shouldn't be any reason for more coverage, but it doesn't make sense why there's not.
