Title: Hello, from an FtM Androgyne
Post by: AndroJay on December 30, 2008, 12:31:06 PM
Hey

I'm Jamie, otherwise known as AndroJay.
I identify as somewhere on the FtM end of the spectrum, but consider the "Ft" as important as the "M".
I went with the name AndroJay because I'm vaguely androgynous, and vaguely male. Somewhere in the middle

(https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi454.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fqq265%2FJamietheBoi%2FGender.jpg&hash=17ae294422c36fbc6d339254039ce1bad5c3f3d4)

Yeah, that explains better than my attempt with words, midway between the centrepoint and the male end along the androgyne line.

My gender identity is... often in a state of flux, and the best label I can sometimes find is not-female, whereas other times, I've got it downpat where I fit in. Transmasculine works as well, despite me being a femme boi (as I currently label).

It's more confusing than that because although I despise presenting female constantly, I like dressing feminine on occasion, and when I've transitioned to a point at which dysphoria is minimal, I plan to dress in tranditionally feminine clothes occasionally again.

Oh, and I have the most awesome boyfriend, a trans boy called Kane, and I love him

I joined here because I wanted to find somewhere where you don't have to subscribe to a false binary to be part of a trans community

Jay

Edited to add:
I wasn't sure I'd explained myself well enough there. For day to day purposes, I'll identify as male, I'll self-describe as FtM, when in places that I can't explain genderqueerity, and I plan to transition, going on testosterone and having my chest restructured that I can pass as male. I get all the dysphoria associated with the female body, and to all intents and purposes seem... ftm. I plan to live life as male, a male who wears androgynous clothes generally, and feminine ones on occasion, it's that... my gender identity is FAR closer to male than female, and where I can, I'll challenge the false binary, where I can't, I'll live as male.
