I had a very boring evening, and I loved it. :)
Hanging on the couch with my girlfriend, watching a bit of telly and relaxing.
It was the first time that we had New Year´s Eve just with the two of us (and the three cats, that is.)
Vincent, who is having his usual I-aint-gonna-do-nothing-day on January 1st.
I went to a party which made me feel detached from the rest of humanity by an additional 240 lightyears added on to the pre-existing 57.
I didn't know a lot of the people there and I hope I never do.
And my miniscule shards of coolness are comprised of lies.
There have been several moments in my life when things which have been patently obvious to everyone else for several years have suddenly become apparent to me, often having never occured to me before... but that was by far the worst.
The running joke in my job for years was that we could so anything we wanted so long as we were not late and didn't ask for NYE off. So I worked. 17 hours, did the ballon drop (from the cealing, so I didn't even get to see them fall), and did the Greyboy Allstars and George Clinton and the P-Funk Allstars. Great time, my GF came, and it lasted a long time, got ofut of there at 4am.
On the rare occasions where I do not work, I stay home, NYE is amatuer night. Everything is way too expensive, its a 'see what the market will bear' kind of deal.
When I was young I went to see the Grateful Dead every NYE, seeing a bunch before 1980, and seeing every one from 79-89. That was a good time, I do miss that.
Did Karaoke and made a fool of myself (so what's new?)..
...but I guess I turned a really boring party into a riot......
...Actually I don't really care...give it another week and all this pain will be over for another year!
...and I really used to love Christmas & NY...what happened?

I took a hot bubble bath, had to dry my hair, finished a book and went to sleep.
Well i was with a pretty large group. 55 at last count then i went to another place that had two groups of 13 and 7 and then finally back to my place where 2 popped in and oh yea my buddy was right around the corner i had to see him.
55 grass fed beef cows + 13 chickens 7 goats + 2 cats and my horse buddy roflmao
but no hangover ;D
Had a long chat with my son and daughter. Catching up I guess. Otherwise, not a dang thing.

Decided to stay up and watch a firework display from home. Opened some champagne at about 11pm. Next thing I new it was 2am and I had fallen asleep in my chair.

I was updating a Rules / Good trader list on another forum with good and bad reviews all averaged from members feedback on othersof people and at 12:20 I realized I missed the countdown all while eating gobstoppers(I didnt really care though that I missed it)
Im not even an admin or anything special on that forum, just a regular member(Who spent 3 hours doing it for no reason)
But boy o' boy is that online list organized, alphabetical, and color coded! ;D
Its all good, it makes me feel important having to constantly update it, and change it weekly!
Went to a dyke bar and helped pass out champagne. Then I ran around the city (San Francisco) with a friend of mine, and two dozen of hers, fell asleep on a strange couch and went home. Could have been better, but I've had worse.
Went to a party, got drunk, and passed out on a strange couch. Spent all of new years day recovering from the hangover!

Did the latter, but not the former. Spent the night with my head in a toilet because I picked up a bug in Mexico. Was ok by Jan 2, though, so I just did my polar bear swim then (OK I'm a wuss, I only do polar bear swims in warm climates).

Drank wine at home playing Rock Band while the boyfriend and I procrastinated.
Moved to a party in Aro where we got quite trashed.
Migrated to to town, where we stopped at S&M bar to say g'day to those we knew there.
Ended up at San Fran Bathhouse dancing to an 80s vs 90s gig.
Got home, passed out, boyfriend had to undress me. LULZ!
I sat in a hotel room with my husband and his parents, drank some champagne, and complained about how the movie adaptation of Phantom of the Opera did not live up to my expectations.
My wife was at work and my kids were at parties. So I dressed in drag and went for a walk.
I found this forum! :) Great way to start a new year.
i went to a houseparty where we had cava, port and beer, sat around talked, danced and smoked from a hookah in the centre of the room... then I was attacked by the hostess and kissed until we fell asleep, then woke up and drank and smoked some more...and then finally went to sleep on the most uncomfortable sofa in the world where i mysteriously woke up next to my housemate who i took with me. He made an impression though, they want him at the next do.
I took out the trash and did some laundry, put fresh sheets on my bed.
We stayed in. I made a baked ziti, sitting by the fire with my hubby and dog and watching HNY in different countries on the telly.
Went out to a local nightclub.. with two of my friends. Got in a massive fight nearly got knocked out
trying to protect my friends then after midnight I got into another fight with one of the friends
I was out with! Then came home and played dad to my friends kids..
Then went to sleep at 5am.
Was hung over to the moon and back!
Not a good night!
enjoyed my isolation and solitude. wrote some dark poetry.
