Caaaaats!
So my mom's grandma had a neighbor who had a siamese-persian cat named Pickles. Pickles was a stupid cat. :D One day Pickle's owner was going on vacation, so Pickles went to stay at my mom's grandma's house while my mom was there. Pickles loved my mom and followed her everywhere. Everywhere. My mom got very annoyed and kept trying to push Pickles away, but Pickles stayed. Finally, my mom picked up Pickles and tossed her away, and Pickles hit the opposite wall. Bounced off the wall. Landed on the ground. Walked right back to my mom. ;D
That said, I love cats. ;) ;D I might name my cat Pickles in memorial. ;) ;D

Pickles wasn't stupid, 'cause cats can't be stupid. Pickles just wanted you all to THINK she was stupid, 'cause she knew stupid people get away with more. ;)

:D
When I was a kid, we had 7 cats. I only remember 5 of them, though. They all had names of Egyptian gods and goddesses, except for one- Set. When I was little, I decided I didn't like Set's name, and I liked Thomas instead. So he was renamed Thomas. :D The other cats I remember are Hathor, Osiris, Isis, and Thoth, in the order in which they died. :-\ They were all already almost ten when I was born. The oldest, Isis, lived to be 19 or almost 20, I forget which. I could tell so many stories about them, they each had very distinct and obvious personalities. :)
Set is an Egyptian god. Set, Seth, so on. He was the god of storms and chaos, evil and the desert, etc. He fought with pretty much every other Egyptian god. But but SEVEN CATS? I have a hard enough time taking care of my two!
I've always wondered if one has to be brought up with cats to like them.
I am not sure if it qualifies me or not.
But this is Harley Davidson.

Yeah :embarrassed: , I meant that his later name, Thomas, wasn't an Egyptian god name. So he wound up being the odd one out. :)
It actually had turned into a nice routine, at least by the time we only had five. We had two litter boxes, changed twice a week. I would help my dad change the litter, at that time I could barely move the bag of fresh litter enough to drag it out of the closet. :-X That's how much we used. Our dining room table legs got scratched up but strangely enough, they left the upholstered furniture alone. And I got very good at figuring out exactly when one of them was about to have a hairball, and having a paper towel ready. :-X
Tink, is Munchkin a kitten? :D They're all adorable! It's interesting that most of the cats posted in this thread have been black and white. Our cats were mostly a plain grey-brown stripy color, but Thoth and Isis were black. Thoth did have a tiny white patch on his chest, though.

This cat also happens to look almost exactly like a cat I grew up with.
That's a beautiful story, Tink. :) I always knew that when I got kittens of my own, I'd adopt them from a shelter.. and my 'baby,' Thoth, was originally a runt and picked on by all the other cats, even when he was an adult.. it was so great to see him blossom and grow in confidence as I paid more attention to him, in one week he went from wary and scared to falling asleep in my lap. I miss him. :-\
Oooh, a calico! I think calico cats are so pretty. :)

Must be a bad translation or something. Leopards are not native to the same environments that Native Americans are.

The Cat With Wings by Robert William Service
You never saw a cat with wings,
I'll bet a dollar -- well, I did;
'Twas one of those fantastic things
One runs across in old Madrid.
A walloping big tom it was,
(Maybe of the Angora line),
With silken ears and velvet paws,
And silver hair, superbly fine.
It sprawled upon a crimson mat,
Yet though crowds came to gaze on it,
It was a supercilious cat,
And didn't seem to mind a bit.
It looked at us with dim disdain,
And indolently seemed to sigh:
"There's not another cat in Spain
One half so marvelous as I."
Its owner gently stroked its head,
And tickled it with fingers light.
"Ah no, it cannot fly," he said;
"But see - it has the wings all right."
Then tenderly from off its back
He raised, despite its feline fears,
Appendages that seemed to lack
Vitality - like rabbit's ears.
And then the vision that I had
Of Tabbie soaring through the night,
Quick vanished, and I felt so sad
For that poor pussy's piteous plight.
For though frustration has it stings,
Its mockeries in Hope's despite,
The hell of hells is to have wings
Yet be denied the bliss of flight.
I want a kitty with wings! :(

Like people translating the Japanese
yamaneko as mountain lion when there are no such animals in Japan? It should be translated mountain bobcat.
It could be lost in translation, but more likely its just lost in sloppy research and lazy writing.

Our family has one cat. This Chritsmas he ignored the toys that he got for presents even they contained catnip. But first time when he got a toy with catnip he went crazy. His worst habit is stealing food that is not for him.
just got (finally ) a new cat after our black cat ran away (or got killed!) like i said got a brand new it's a boy cat he's a kinda fluffy white with black markings named ethan but unfortunally he's a bit of a pussy (get it!) we put him outside yesterday afternoon & so far he won't come out because of our dogs
