Hi! I'm gonna skip the obligatory newbie 'should I be posting this here?' thing... I'm sure I'll be told if I shouldn't :)
I'm still really new (half a year if) to knowing my transgendered-ness. I'm still kinda coming to terms with how far I'll want to take it if that makes sense.
I suppose one o fmy main curiosities about the procedures are the before/ afters. Like, seeing in practise what changes and what doesn't, etc.
I'm nto sure if this will be offensive to anybody, I hope not, but... Google is quite useless as it always is when you want something useful. If its possible and people are fine with it, I guess what I'm sayng is I want to see some before & after shots, really.
:)
Samantha,
There is plenty on information on the internet.
Join the Yahoo Group ffsupport and also beginninglife.com has a good section on FFS.
Also try the websites of Dr O, Dr Z, Suporn etc.
I had FFS with Dr Suporn in 2000, it changed my life beyond recognition.

The work with Dr. Z I had done was astonishingly good! Made an immense difference in me. Besides the visual difference, it made a difference inside me.. Much better self-acceptance, can see my beauty inside myself that I never could before. Helped jump start the changes that I needed to make.
Don't do this step without a lot of reflection, though. It is something you can't step back from once done. People will treat you differently. It "out's you" pretty effectively. It is ungodly expensive, and it kicks your butt. The recovery time, well, it's longer than anyone says. I'm 6mo out and not entirely healed.. the nerve stuff takes time. People thought that I was dying of cancer afterwards. No kidding.
It's a big deal.

I had FFS six months ago. The doctor I went to was not a big name but has done many FFS procedures. Everyone I talked to said he is an artist.
One thing I didn't want was to look like I had any work done. We see people all the time, male & female, trans & straight, and can tell they had plastic surgery. Those who knew the doctor I used all said, "You can't tell".
I had the brow bone shaved, scalp advance, upper lip lift, trach shave and a full face and neck lift. In the process he was able to raise the eyebrows a bit, enhance the cheek bones and overall create a more feminine look. He does not do work below the neck.
Recovery is a long process. The first four days were brutal for me and the swelling took a while to subside. But two weeks after FFS I had BA and was feeling great, though a bit swollen still. The numbness lasts the longest and at six months I still have some but it's not bad. I do believe there will be no permanent loss of sensation anywhere.
If you want to know more, PM me and I'll give you the details and send pics if you wish.
MY GF went to a doctor in LA who is also not a big name. She wanted the same as me, feminine look but no sign of having had work done on her face. She got very good results too. Her daughter saw her and told her if she hadn't known what she looked like before she wouldn't have known she had any work.
Neither of these doctors are known on FFS Support. So there are doctors out there who are well qualified to do FFS but aren't "in the circuit".
