Title: Trachea shave...

I've recently been thinkin on getting my trachea shaved down but have no idea how much it is, how safe it is, or anything like that..if anyone has gone though this and has anything to say about it replie's would greatly apperciated :)

There's an article in our wiki which explains all you need to know about this type of procedure.  As far as medical costs, they vary somewhat from state to state, and of course on the surgeon you choose.  Please take a sec to read the following link in our wiki:

These were the prices I was able to find as of 2002 (obviously they will be much higher now) but at least you'll have an idea of how much you will be spending.

Hi Matilyn,

I had a Tracheal shave as part of my FFS in 2001.

It was something that bothered me, although my Adams apple was not large or to prominent. It is now non-existent and I have a (now indistiguishable) scar on my neck.

There is always danger in any surgery and with the tracheal shave,being over aggressive there is a chance of damaging the vocal chords.
