Katelynn is one of the eight people living in the house this season on the very popular reality show called Real World. I just finished watching the first episode which just premiered tonight, and I think she is an amazing woman!

I love this show. :D Past seasons felt like crappy popcorn TV, but this season seems like it'll actually have some kind of intellectual value. I actually like all of the people on it so far, even though they guy was being a bit rude about pronouns and forcing someone to be out.. I've seen a lot worse. This is going to be great. :) And I really loved how they compared his being afraid people would see him differently for being in the army, with Katelynn being afraid of being treated different for being trans. It shows they have something in common. I hope they'll figure that out themselves, too.
i really wish they would have pic a transsexual that passed much better, i my self think that she is quite manly looking which encourages the pronoun comments. i believe if she was really pretty there would be a much differnt reaction from the men in the house.
i guess mtv is trying to ease into transsexuals, then have a stunning preop.

They were all saying she was pretty until that guy started putting doubts in their heads. I think she's pretty, too. :)
shes average in my opinion, she has some features that are quite strong,
and doesnt dress to appeal to her figure,
i mean come one women, pluck those terrace bushes above your eyes, your a woman now not a man!
Would any really, super passable trans person waste their time with a ->-bleeped-<-ty reality television show like this one appears to be?
Wow, I haven't watched MTV for years. A Mormon and a transsexual in the same household is sure to be a lot of drama.. I'm glad that they selected Katelynn, but I hope she is not hurt in the process. She may not be the most petite girl in the world, but neither are a lot of us. I got to agree with Bridget, as far as some of her apparel could use some work.. but, I do think she is pretty.
Do they post every real world on MTV's site?

I watched the first episode today. it was OK, i didn't think there was any transphobia, they just had concerns and curiosity which is to be expected. I wasn't paying attention to it that much since I was watching while I was at work though.
I haven't watched an episode of the real world since the first one! hehehe
Yeah kind of excited about this season, because of Katelynn. They are just following ANTMs lead IMO but regardless it's great they have her on and that we are getting some more positive attention. As far as looks I think she represents the averadge for what alot of us look like at least in the first few years. If they had a 'stunning' girl I think I would be annoyed, that they are trying to glamourize or sensationalize being trans, and that would be alot less 'real'. She's got a few things to learn like all of us did at one point. It feels a little more like the first season too where they aren't all just soap actors in waiting trying to put this on their resume, but perhaps a little more like someone I might know. That was really sweet when the guy asked her to dinner.
i have watched both episodes and she is so sweet and honest. i love that they are giving us some spotlight and some way to let the real world know we are out there and we are human too. just different in gender. i love the show and i will watch it all every wed its on..thank you mtv.
lets not forget Isis on next top model awsome baby they have inspired me to just be me and be free inside out..

Yeah I thought this was neat. I wish she had gone on there when she was pre-op though. Just because I think that's a dumb dividing line. It's something that makes Isis's story on ANTM a lot more compelling to me. That she was competing with all of these other top models, and she had not had her genitals altered. It was pretty cool. It came back to get her in the swimsuit shoot, I think, but on the whole she did really great for herself there.
My issue with Katelynn is how insecure she is. Which is understandable. But I definitely rolled my eyes at the fivesome comment. It sucks that she thinks she has to prove her bonofides that way to the other women. If she just relaxed, she'd be fine. But I think we've all been there. I applaud her for having the courage to be out there in the public eye like that, because there's a lot of mean hurtful things that come with that, and what she's doing in terms of showing the rest of the world what trans people are like is pretty inspiring. I like that she's not hiding. That's the type of thing that is going to make the world a lot safer and better for all of us in the long run.
So yeah. Rock on.
Oh and I think she looks great, and she has a really good voice too. She's one of the cuter girls in the house, honestly. Her and Sarah are my two favorite cast members. Though Chet and Ryan crack me up. So much repressed sexual tension on Chet's side, it makes me lulz.
