Title: Finally registered myself for therapy, T and surgeries!
Post by: PolarBear on January 16, 2009, 09:42:22 AM
Hey everyone,

well, I bit the bullet.
I finally put my name on the waiting list for therapy, testosterone and surgeries.
There is one group in The Netherlands that looks if people are really transsexual, and give them therapy, HRT and the surgeries.
Unfortunately the waiting list is 4 to 5 months just for the first meeting, so I still have to wait a really long time.
It will take at least 6 to 9 months before they will decide if I will get testosterone, and then another one and a half years before the surgeries.

*Vincent rolls his eyes.... That's a mighty long time!*

I'm still a bit stunned that I actually finally did it, lol. Took me long enough!

Vincent, filled with nervous energy.

It certainly is a big step forward, one of many that you will be taking.  Two years is not so long when you consider that those two years will change the rest of your life.  Believe me those two years will fly by as there is so many other things that you will need to be doing by way of preparation.  Patience, what will be will be.

Congratulations, and Steph's right. That two years will go by pretty quickly for you I hope.

Thank you both :)

It will probably be 2 1/2 to 3 years until the surgeries, but your point still stands.
Right now it feels like a long time, but I guess the time will fly by.
