Firstly this is not an American site, it is an international site with members from all over the world and from "every" age group so we need to be careful of the language or implied language that is used.
Secondly posting on Susan's Web Site is a privilege not a right. If you find yourself at odds with the TOS then simply ask Susan that your account be wiped.

In the dark ages before the internet and laser printing and blogs I always told my students that freedom of the press was limited to people who owned a press.
In this case it would be limited to people who pay for the server and bandwidth.
I used to point people to GenderPeace as a fine example of unfettered free-speech. The free-for-all there two or three years ago caused the abandonment of a great TS resource. But, that's gone now as I'd suppose the server and bandwidth was no longer being paid for by anyone who wanted to consistently ream other posters or place their semi-porn pics on the board.
Uncontrolled freedom is only as good as the least-controlled individual around is willing to make it. Often they are unwilling or unable to control themselves and good sites have mods to enforce their rules.
I'm sure it's all well and good to say as you think, and say whatever you wish; but no one, you included I suspect, enjoys a consistent refrain of dismissal, name-calling and nasty inference or outright direct nastiness. Just as you'd prefer being held in respect so do others. The TOS here is a fine-example of directing that folks do that.
And somehow I suspect that on your own site/s you're gonna find that allowing everything is to wind up with no one participating.

Scar, don't get this twisted, Babe. But I've only been here for a very short time and can tell yu it gets a lot worse elsewhere (I'll refrain from mentioning names) on the web. I have freinds that are involved on these forums I speak of and the babysitting tactics and sensitive personalities of some of the mods I've seen on those are childish and unreasonable in comparison. This seems to be a good site, really. Give it some thought, will yu? :)
