Okay, now obviously both are important and desirable, but if you could only have one:
a) being loved by others
b) loving yourself
which would you choose?
This is a challenging situation for me right now...I'm not sure which I would choose. Probably loving myself...because I'm not sure I do right now.
Being loved by others. But it begins by loving yourself. I love being me now, but I would like to have someone to love me and to share this wondrous journey.
Janet
I think I have been living with the being loved by others method and am moving to the loving myself place.
c) Loving someone else. :)
"loving yourself " I think you must love yourself to love other
Loving myself. Because how could I ever give someone love or receive the right kind of love if I don't first understand what its like to love myself.
loving yourself. I choose this answer because I feel that if it were more important for me to have others love me than all my self esteem would depend on something I could not control (another persons chioces and actions toward me) and I feel if loving myself is more important I can control my self esteem and my self image.
I feel the same way that Fer and Jessie_Heart have expressed.
"You must love yourself before you love another. By accepting yourself and fully being what you are, your simple presence can make others happy."
I found this quote at "http://thinkexist.com/quotations/self-love/", along with many other similar thoughts... We need to respect ourselves, know ourselves, like who and what we are, before we can find love outside of ourselves...
OTHER QUOTES I LIKE INCLUDE:
"If you aren't good at loving yourself, you will have a difficult time loving anyone, since you'll resent the time and energy you give another person that you aren't even giving to yourself."
Barbara De Angelis
"The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely"
Carl Gustav Jung
Lauren
"With your mind, you can survive. Only through your heart can you live."
being loved by others
Loving myself I think as then If I loved my self.. (Great grammer that was) Then I would give out positive energy so people would end up loving me anyhow.
finding someone to love,
B. is too cliche for me and if you find someone to love your probably get A. in return anyway.
