I have read Lord of Illusions, liked the movie better.  The Hellraiser series is awesome.

I wonder if the Thief of Always will ever be made into a film?

In Books of Blood: Vol 1, 1991, there is a wonderful, strange novel "In the Hills, the Cities" about two gay men Judd and Mick, traveling in Yugoslavia. They come to the twin cities of Popolac and Podujevo and there is going on a "ritual battle" , people "moving as one creature, one perfect giant."

When I read it first time, I was amazed by its eery feeling and mythical proportions. I felt it to describe the split Yugoslavia... what could it describe.. heterosexist destructive collectivism, anti-individual society..
Sure, one of the best novels I have ever read..

I love his style, though I often don't like what he writes.  Love the Abarat series, though.

I have met him a couple times.  He's terrific.  He was doing a drawing and he said, "should this be a man or a woman."  I said "how about both."  He said "Aha! now you're talking" then gave it to me.

So somewhere I have a Clive Barker hermaphrodite creature drawing.

I've read a ton of his books.
