I have been negotiating with SRS surgeons as far as (orchiedectomy.) Other than the two letters from my psychologist and family physician (I'm not really 100 percent sure on this).
After five years of negotiating, I have decided to choose Dr. Ngyuen. Anybody know about how long the stay in Oregon is as this would be my first "vacation" as Ava.
I have met all the Standards of Care criteria (including hormones and electrolysis) except the two letters.
No date has been set.
I know that Dr. Nguyen requires you stay in the area for 24 hours after surgery. I am going to go to him for my Orchie also, as soon as I can raise the money. And I think he is going to be my SRS surgeon too. He is close to me. I live about 20 minutes from him. I would rather recoup at home.
I would say to stay about a week just do you are close if anything is needed. Portland is great. There are lots of things to see and do. Make sure to at least go to Darcelle's. They have a great drag show. And the zoo, Omsi, the coast, Moe's ( Great sea food ), Astoria, just downtown Portland, Mt; Hood, Timberline Lodge. Gee I sound like a travel agent.

Good point.
However, I will take a VCR and tape local newscasts as a vacation momento, since I run a TV News Discussion, similar to Florida News Center.
Speaking of Florida, I was looking to Dr. Reed (in Miami) for the orchi, but today, I found out it was a deal-breaker.
Second what Janet says. Lots to do here in Portland. The Max makes it easy to get anywhere if you stay downtown. I could go on and on about his place so I'll stop now!
COngrats on the surgery

I don't know what you're budget is but my GF and me loved the Crown Plaza in Lake Oswego, the room was like $100 per night, with two buffet breakfasts, so it was a good deal. Right on the main freeway too.
I know which hotel I will stay, just can't release any more details yet. It may be several months before that happens.
An orchie cliff hanger...Right on, keep us posted
Tell me, what is an orchie?

Orchidectomy
What is it other than the full name "info"......
Bilateral castration. Neutered. Enough said. ;D
Oh, so you become a unick?
Just a woman with one, no two less birth defects. ;D
And I guess it would make anyone who gets one a unique individual. Sorry I could not resist. And yes I am going to get one, so it wasn't a slam by any means.
Janet
Why not hold out for the full SRS?
For me, Cost mostly. And the need for something more. Also it will cut down on the spiro.
Orchie $1500. SRS $18k to $20k
Sorry Ava, for the hi jack. But she asked and I saw it so.......
Janet
I didn't intend to hijack. I just wanted to better understand. Sorry
I really don't think she minds. I was just answering your questions. It is a choice to do something. Many do it prior to SRS. It shouldn't be done is SRS is within a year. And the doctor we are talking about does do SRS.
Janet
I understand to some degree. I get annoyed by the annoying dangler also. But I'll keep until SRS so there is more to work with
The only thing that will be missing is the twins. And they are not needed. Any shrinkage will be minimal if SRS is within the next two years.
Janet
OK, I see. That better explains things to some degree. So you rid yourself of the unnecessary and retain a portion of the necessary? Sorry to drag it out of you. But I wanted to understand
Yes and it makes tucking better. The twins won't exist so no need to tape. And it eliminates the major manufacturer of T, thus lowering or eliminating the need of Spiro.
And from my point of view it is just one more thing that isn't really a part of my true self.
Janet
It has been a question on my mind for some time now. Thank You for your help
