Title: hi there
Post by: Hannah on February 10, 2009, 04:57:13 PM
Hello Everyone,

I should apologise, I jumped right into conversations on other topics last week, and haven't introduced myself.

Anyway my name is Hannah, I'm 34 years young and (mtf) transexual. I've known this for ages, but only in the last year have I started taking action on it. I've read this web site for some time now, but as I move into this rather...interesting time I thought I should stop being a wallflower and participate.

I really don't know what to say in terms of history. I can't point to any particulary traumatic event that triggered my transition, or even a specific time I knew, I just kinda did. Putting a label on the feeling and acting on it are two completely different matters though, aren't they! I was always held back by a fear of living life with the deviant label, never being taken seriously, looked down upon and so on, the whole basket of fears I'm sure everyone has. At some point it just became too much, and I had to take action. So here we go  :)

Anyway I just wanted to say Hi! I appreciate this forum, and have gleaned so much insight and food for thought from it. I enjoy the realistic, mature tone with the occasional flight of fancy that is found here, and think this is a pretty neat group of people I'm happy to be associated with.

Hi Hannah,   :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 1660 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion. Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers.  Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now.  And it is always nice to have another sister.   :icon_hug:

Aw, how sweet, I hope you continue to feel that way about us after you've been around us at closer quarters, Hannah.

I like your description of flights of fantasy preceded and surrounded by realistic, mature tone! Hmm, obviously you've been unable to read everything, haven't you. :)

Welcome to the great wide open, Hannah.

Hi, Hannah!

We're so glad you're here!

In so many ways, your story is my story too.  You're doing very well, indeed, to take positive steps at age 34.  I'm 19 years your senior and am only now getting started.  I may be too late for transition at my age, but mayhaps not.

Anyway, this post is about you ... you're sincerely welcome here!  You've found a family, so enjoy it!  May peace and happiness be yours.

Hi Hannah and welcome  :)

I new at an early age but didn't really do much about it other than cross dressing until I hit my forties. I wish there would have been resources like this around way back when.... 8)

Hi Hannah,
Welcome, there is not any event that triggered my being TS it was something i knew from when i was about 5 - 6 but didn't know what it was called back then, only later did understand. I don't like labels and we are not deviant, what i am is a very special woman. Looking forward to reading your posts in the future.

LacyLynne, being older does not mean you cannot transition, i'm 56 and started last year and am getting good results, and there a quite a few others some even older than i that have or are transitioning and i bet they will be along shortly to say the same thing.

Paula.
