Title: Real World: Brooklyn
Post by: chrysalis on February 12, 2009, 03:07:14 AM
Has anyone else been watching this? They have a FTM on there named Katelyn. I think it's pretty edgy of MTV to do something like that, but that's what they are known for and over all the house seems really supportive towards her.

Edit: I forgot to mention she's also like super brave. She's only been fully transitioned for like 2 months and is coll with being on the Real World. WTF?! I would totally need an adjustment period before I went on TV or something.

Yes, I've been watching it, just for this fact. However, I think this is her adjustment period seeing the way she's been acting as time goes on. She's starting to come off a bit...much. However, the reaction by the other roommates has been pretty good so far, so that's a plus.

Ugh.  I like what she's doing on the whole.  But for godsakes...put some pants on and stop dancing on poles.  And stop bragging about how many fivesomes you've had.

I just want to tell her to chill out.

She reminds me of that girl in transgeneration.  Gabby.  But like an older more likeable Gabby.

All that said.  I would be freaaaaking out with all those cameras following me everywhere.  But I like to think I would have been a much cooler roommate than her.  But that's cause she's a geek.

Yeah Gabby was the first person I thought of when I saw her on the show. I think Katelyn is a bit more...grounded than Gabby. She's going through that "dress like a hoochie" phase that genetic girls go through as well, it's just different because all of a sudden she's there.

Maybe it's different once you get there, but to me it seems like it's common sense to dress sensibly and listen to the concerns of your roommates. I think RW looks for people with some personality kins though.
