Title: Fun at the fair
Post by: Melissa on August 14, 2006, 01:50:06 AM
Tonight we went to the fair (me my ex and kids) and had a lot of fun.  We do get along sometimes, so it's not all bad.  Anyway, we got there and ate some food, then we looked around at some exhibits.  There was one where there was a bunch of reptiles/amphibians like snakes, turtles, and crocodiles.  After that we went to go on some rides.  I went with the kids on the biggest ferris wheel in the fair and after we got off, I saw the games and I had an idea.

I saw one in particular where you had to hit a thing with a hammer and make a weight go up and hit a bell.  They had 3 different ones.  One for men, one for women, and one for children size accordingly (I bet you can see where I'm going with this one).  Now, I haven't lost much of my strength yet from HRT, but have girl arms anyways.  So, I decided to go for it.  I paid for my son and me to try it.  Well, both of us won prizes from that.  Hey, I had to take advantage of such a unique situation :D.  Anyway, we went on a few more rides and decided to head home.  All in all, we had a lot of fun.

Melissa,

I am so glad you have had a good day after your recent problems at home.

I kept thinking how this seemed so much more fun as a woman.  You wouldn't think it makes a difference, but it does if you were gender dysphoric.  On one of the rides, I looked down and saw a pair of women's legs...attached to my body.  That felt great seeing that.  Also, I kept thinking about a certain guy who's been on my mind lately, but I'm not telling who. ;)

I think it absoulutely incredible that you can get together as a family and participate in anything!  Although I am on very good terms now with my ex, we still will never get together for a family activity.  You are very lucky that you have this avenue to connect with your children and their mother.

Sounds like a great family day out.... I love fairs, went to the state fair in Sacramento a few times.

Strength... wait until you are post op, I can't open jars, bottle tops or do any of the things I used to take for granted when it comes to strength... :icon_help:

There are 17-18 year olds in the softball team I captain that can hit the ball harder and deeper than me... :icon_bat:

Glad you enjoyed your day Melissa.

Hugs

Becky

Melissa,

I hope and pray that you and your family will always be able to do things together.  I'm glad it was a great day for everyone.
