Title: Drug urinalysis and spironolactone
Post by: Mika N. on February 16, 2009, 09:02:13 PM
Hi ladies,

Quick question.  Would anyone know if Spiro would show up on a drug urinalysis test? Like the tests that some employers give..

Thank you.

If they were testing for spiro specifically it would show up however most employer urinalysis tests test for the presence of illegal drugs. A complete drug screen would take far too long and be far too expensive.  One of my tasks at work is to schedule these types of test as a condition of employment for new applicants and believe me every substance that you want screened costs extra bucks.

Are you concerned that your potential employer will know you're taking blood pressure medication? ;)

leave it off.  if it comes up (doubtful), simply say you forgot to write it down and present your bottle from the pharmacy to substantiate your prescription.
