Hello there, I'm an 18-year-old gay f-t-m from New England...apparently younger than most here from what I've seen, but I know a straight f-t-m in my school younger than I am. I say lonely because although I have close friends I have come out to, some of them have trouble understanding the idea of a 'gay man in a woman's body', and so far I've lost one friend who claimed to understand but then went on to make it known she was very uncomfortable being around me. And then even my closest friends, as much as I love them, can't understand how much it upsets me every time I look in the mirror and see a girl, and to feel I am missing the funnest parts of awkward teenhood...I don't feel I can date boys as a girl at all. I haven't started therapy or anything of the sort yet because I haven't come out to my parents and don't expect much support from them anyways. So, yes. That's me as of now. My best friend finally convinced me to at least find a group of people like myself to talk to, so...hello. =)

Welcome, Kirin!
We really are glad to have you here! Here at Susan's Place, being a biological girl or a biological guy really doesn't matter at all like it does in general society. Every one of us here has the same issue that you do. We accept you with opened arms, Hun.
May this old-timer give you just one word of advice? Study and learn what transsexuality is ... both here at Susan's Place and other credible websites. This way, you will really understand it yourself and then can explain it clearly to others.
Transsexuality is a way you are born. Just like you are born with a cetain eye color, a certain voice tone, a certain body build, TS is a trait that you are born with. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU! Accept yourself completely, if you haven't already. Once you confidently accept yourself, the aura you project will influence others to be more accepting of you. Sorry, don't mean to preach.
When you're here with us, consider yourself "at home!"
Hugs!
Again, thank you all so much for welcoming me ^-^ I'm feeling at home already, and am surprised how much more confident I feel now.
Hi Kirin, :icon_wave:
Welcome to our little family. Over 1800 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion. Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams. Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.
But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another brother. :icon_hug:

Hi Kirin and welcome :)
Fully understand your situation, guess I'm the same as you but born male and into women. Thank God the world today has changed and for people like ourselves things have become much easier and acceptance is more common nowadays.
It's hard being young and having that feeling of missing out but believe me at the end of the day being this way is also a blessing in that we get to see and experience what most people can only dream of.
You did the right thing to come here, holding stuff in is toxic to one's mental health.
Take care, (((big hug))),

To paraphrase the old biblical proverb:
"From the mouths of babes (meaning the very young) come words of wisdom."
This is a beautiful post! Hugs!
