OK, all study and introspection and no play makes Casey the lead story on the six o'clock news. So here's an interesting exercise. What color is your gender, and why?
My gender is orange. It's a warming color, not as blinding as yellow but not as fierce as red. Technically it may not be correct but I've always seen as orange as a combination of yellow and red. It takes on the positive qualities of both while toning down the negative qualities of them. It has it's own strengths and weaknesses that are more than one would expect from the simple blending of red and yellow. It's the color of the rising sun, promising a bright new day ahead. It's also the color of the setting sun, marking the end of the active part of the day and signalling a time of relaxation, peace, and introspection.
I have no idea why but I have always loved Pink, I just adore Pink anything, if i could i would live in an all Pink world. I know everyone says YUCK!, but i just love Pink.
I've always like purple, a deep one with a bit of aqua blue thrown in, like paint that isn't mixed all the way but blend into each other a bit. Purple is a color that's not like the others...it doesn't exist naturally as much as the other colors like blue and green and yellow. I feel like I don't exist as naturally as other people either. I'm an enigma, like purple. With blue...I've always felt so close to that color...like water, I feel safe with it. Also, it calms me and describes me oddly. I can't really explain it all the way. Other colors sometimes show in me, but purple and blue are dominant.
What do you think Casey? :)

Hey there Nero. :)
I guess you could say that :) Work is really busy for us at this time - I'm doing a lot of driver training as I have to train ten more drivers for the start of school.
Rosy maybe ? :) you know I've never given it much thought. I'm really not that intuitive when it comes to colours. In fact my fav colour is white, but I'm not sure it is even a colour :) So I guess the colour of my gender is white, hmmmmm that sounds lame :)
Steph :)
Color white?
Does it ignite
a view into Steph's soul?
Daylight is white
it brightens the night
when stars
shine excite
their bright light
of white.
White is every color
mixed up when you mix
the light
The blight
of emotion contains no light.
It mixes all colors of
paint to black.
A hateful hack
reasons smack
emotions dreary.
White and black
both composed of
all color
They make you taller
or perhaps smaller
You can smile
or waller.
Black or White?
You are right.
It depends on the fight
and energy and might
you devote to it.

Indigo. The colour of the background to the Australian Flag (not royal blue - its indigo). Th colour of US Navy Corsair, a WWII US fighter plane that looks so dangerously efficient. The colour of the sky just before night - the very very last vestige of the day hanging on.
The colour of my soul I suspect.

For me, it has to be Kelly-Green!
Chaunte
Does Kelly Green work as one of my colors, Kendra?
I seem to like the color Lavender myself. It reminds me of the smell of fresh lilacs on a beautiful spring day. It seems to relax me for some wierd reason.
Shannon
Its kinda that lavender color... alittle pink but more purple *shrugs* To me it convays strenght mixed with beauty and grace :)
Peach
I like to eat
and I'll reach
for peach clothing
every time.
It is my color.
They tell me I
look good
not knowing whether
any one would
ever notice.
Smells of peach
resound
a party of sound
a color that
has odor
A soft color of great taste
A music of smell profound
But does it portray
anything in the way
I think of myself?
Do I dismay
over which color conveys
the state of my mind?
Sure I like it
But I have to admit
that I'll never commit
any significance to
a color.

Red or a violet.
Rather prominent you might say.
Black...... Like todays mood
But normally Green..... I find green calming and reminds me of long walks in rolling hills

Chaunte,
Yes that is one color in the autumn chart though this time of year colors move to darks green, yellows, oranges, reds, browns, neutrals as the real autumn arrives, That green is more springlike or summer.
As for myself right now Palegreen and DarkSalmon
The Darksalmon comes from deep within me, very emotionally, from the heart and soul. This is the main color of my feminine/male essence. The Palegreen comes from the outside world, environment, earth, sky, heavens; which gives me a feeling of absorbing energy; which in turn process then pour out.
I guess I would say...........
Oh i just can't pick just one.
All of the colors of the rainbow. I love pink, baby blue, grass green, easter purple, and I love
orange the different shades of the sky at sunset. I want a sunset colored dress.
I just can't choose one they are all the colors of my gender. I guess you might say I am multicolored.
And that suits me.

What color is my gender? Any and all shades of purple. The shade varies with my mood. People tell me I look good in purple, but they also say that about the color blue.
Nero
Purple, more specifically Royal Purple (royal blue too, and they both go great with forrest green) and of course I'll state my reasons...Stong, bold, true color, usually a background color, goes less noticed among the the bright, obnoctious colors. A perfect blend of the calm, happy blue and a little of the fierce, angry red. poor some white hope into it and it becomes that bueatiful lavander.

Pink's and yellows !
A rainbow, glow in the dark, iridescent, neon, metallic, day glow, shimmering, glittery, holographic, technicolor, transshifting, cat shaped lightningstorm from the heart of the sun as seen through a prism..Does that help?.

Yellow. I have a pair of yellow pants I like to wear from time to time and I like using yellow ponytail holders. It's not my favorite color, but it's the color of my gender.

I am an Androgyne and my gender colour is rich, lush, deep green.
Green is the colour of nature, growth and healing. It is the colour of four-leaf-clovers and secret abodes where water flows up from Mother Earth. It is the refreshingly cool restfulness of a mossy waterfall, the places where brilliant electric blue sky and sparkling gold sunshine meet. Green is the colour of tranquility and newness and wonder! It is the colour of both favor and good fortune. It is the moment when order and chaos meet to create harmony and peace. Green is the eclectic shapes and shades of late-Spring leaves. It is the warmth, the bounty, and the melon-sweet goodness of Summer. Green is the colour of elegant velvety softness that keeps you snuggly warm in Winter. Were it a smell it would be of fresh cut fir and balsam. Were it a taste it would be of the crisp bite of nearly ripe apple and frosty mint. Were it a touch it would cool and smooth.... calming.... restoring. Were it a sound, it would be the quiet hush-hush rustle of tall grass waving in a gentle wind-dance.
Green, dear children, is the colour of the Garden Universe and each one of us is a flower growing in a gender garden.

I'm sorry, Kate put me in a really good mood with one of her posts and her PM, it was really needed. Thank you Kate.
Mine is blue. When I am alone, when I can stop all the questions and the thinking, and just be who I am naturally without questioning every little thing and what it means to my life, it's very calming, soothing, I don't know how I can explain it. It's like being in the ocean, it surrounds you, envelops you, and supports you as long as you don't fight against it.
Jessica
Speaking of gender color, it seems we are all different colors of the rainbow, hence the PRIDE flag.

Maybe White!
White is a great color for a gender. Its a netural color, not really taking a side. It stands on its own and has some nice associations...
Purity, Snow, Brightness

Scan up the thread Vanessa. I wrote a piece about the color white. White is all colors. It is all inclusive. Great stuff for white.

It just has to be like the flag, RAINBOW!
Why limit ourselves?
Whenever I try to choose I think of another color I can relate to!
Sky :)
I know black doesn't technically count as a colour, but I've got to label my gender as being black. Black isn't translucent; black goes well with anything and everything; black is often how I feel and black is easier to hide, especially after the sun goes down.
Orange. Orange doesn't seem to be represented as well as the other colors unless its in a rainbow. It doesn't rhyme with anything. You hardly ever see people wearing orange. It's different, it's odd. It's the opposite of blue. Its one of the colors of Autumn, representing transition.

The Klein bottle of colors. So long as it is always in motion. ;)
A box of Crayola 64s. With the sharpener on it.
My partner is genderqueer, and I see their gender as "sparkly" and "rainbow coloured".
My gender is binary, which makes me feel like it's less necessary to describe it. People usually know what female looks like. But I do feel identified with pink. :)

i always thought female was dark blue like the deep oceans. or mediterranean turquoise.
signal red is very masculine the way i see it.
so it's better if you define your own color. what shade of pink are you?

Really? Why? I always associate red with love, passion, blood, violence and communists. *giggle*
I always wanted a lime green trench coat, but my first coat ended up being orange and the second (current) one is red. It's been associated with everything, but not with masculinity. Huh.

ask people who lived a hundred years ago. red is aggressive, domineering, blood-thirsty. there are women who are like that, but if we talk about somewhat old fashioned ideals, then this is definitely more masculine.
also, flanell shirts. that lumberjack uniform...
but when it comes to clothes, the cut seems to be more important than the color.
That makes sense... so that's why everyone says people with red cars are more aggressive drivers, eh? :p
Perfectly mirrored chrome.
Or if you're going to insist on a color-color, then probably black I guess. Or maybe white, because that's technically 'none' of the colors. Idk, either or. :P
If you speak in terms of light, white is all colors and black is none. We can't see colors without light, so that's how i think of them.
I wish i were chameleon colored more often. But i've ended up not thinking too much about gender. I am me, and i try to be at all times. Other people can decide what gender that might be. Today's color is charcoal or somewhere close to that.
Charcoal is fun to draw with. It's nice and messy and smears well. If I could, I'd use charcoal for makeup, but it washes away too quickly. It also burns well!
All in all, good choice for the day. ;)

-This being specifically Cadbury purple.
right now, i'm feeling a warm oranger tone of flame red.
and nice to see you again, pica!
I don't know what color my gender is. It might just be transparent.
But my mood varies from a bright, sunny orange-yellow, to nearly black.
I'm not sure about the color of my gender. I do know one thing though. Today's society can only see in monochrome so to the world I will likely always just be black or white. Even to most other transpeople I'm likely only seen in grayscale at best. I'm not even sure that I can even see more than 4 bit color at my best. Its sad to think about when really the world is made up of infinite colors just between red and violet. And who knows maybe there are genders that we just cant even comprehend like colors beyond the visible spectrum going into ultraviolet or infrared.
Sorry if my post sounded depressing.
The color of crows. People say that's black, and sometimes it looks that way from a distance or from some angles or lighting conditions... and it's basically a right answer. But to someone paying attention, there's more than just a hint of shifting purples, blues, and greens.
i find crows more charcoal than black. ravens are a nice black color, but my favorite is m->-bleeped-<-ie. they are a very pure white, and a black shimmering with all kinds of colors when looking closer.
i often wish i could see ultraviolet nuances. it seems so sad to be restricted to just a tiny part of the color spectrum.
Holy resuscitation! A post from 7 years ago revived once again.
mhmm...
some threads are worth the necromancy.
I'm going to have to go with black, since I'm in a black hole of confusion about my sex and gender.
Or red because of the rage, lust, love and passion associated with the confusion. :)
Green has always been my colour.
I love this idea!
I think my gender would be... purple. Like, more on the pinkish side than the blueish side (not because pink=girl/blue=boy; I'm more boyish than girlish and I don't buy that anyway). I can't even explain why. I mean... it's a deep color, and I feel my gender pretty deeply. Also it's apparently associated with creativity, and I think of my gender as something I'm continuously creating. That and it's just a nice color and I like it.
I'd have to say green honestly. Not really a dark green but something really vibrant and happy. Maybe like this?
That's actually how I explain it to people. Colours are an easy thing for people to understand.
I would have to say blue. It's also been a soft subtle color. And it's so pretty and majestic to me. Which is the way I like to think of myself.

Love this...I am team purple! :D
If white is allowed then white is my color. But if you look at me through a glass or a prism then almost every color is present and I am good with this. Frankly I don't normally gender anything, much less myself as it is always seems to be subjective and a touch contentious.
safe travels

A thousand colors, swirling around, sometimes some are bright, then others rise to the surface, but deep inside is a blazing white light, fierce as it shines through the pink and blue and magenta, piecing the dark world surrounding it. And deep within the light, she is, gentle and beautiful, a dazzling angelic she fairy with wings guilded with gold, and a passion that burns for the people of trans.
The colors swirl, lit from within, the core is she, but to the world she shows herself to, she is cloaked in all the colors of the rainbow, born after the morning rain.
If I may be so bold. But it is my truth nonetheless.

I have been rocking a cobalt blue ring on one finger and a sparkliing pink one on the other hand. Right now, my transition coincides with some Chakra work I'm doing. So blue - both light and dark, indigo, purple.
purple or mauve or lilac these are the shades that match me
Probably purple but maybe also turquoise? Like maybe a gradient of the two?

Tattoo idea I've had, but basically, I'm black for the structure in my life, orange for my masculine life, and blue for my fem side!
Burgundy with hints of green and purple (mother of pearl?). Deep red, but with cooling shades of water, nature and spirituality.
Or teal. I like teal, for some reason.

I guess I would say pink I heard that it used to be a masculine color. I truly don't think colors have any gender but I found that interesting to see how society changes. I also like pink I guess for me and allows me to express myself how I want to be expressed
I also feel strength in it.
I would have to say a dark blue right now.
My color seem to change with how I feel internally. In the past when I was young, I felt like I best suited dark red. That slowly changed into a forest green as I became more comfortable with myself. Now, as I am now attempting to start some sort of transition, I feel like a dark (almost ocean) blue is what suits me best. It'll be interesting to see what color my future self feels like.
Also keira166,
I love your design. It reminds me of elements, which I've always had a fascination for. :)

Large, black, devouring voidness. But if you accustom your eyes and look for long enough, you may see some white, pink and turquoise stars ...
I'm joining the purple club here. :)
I still remember the feeling of daring, anger, guilt and liberation and the deep satisfaction when I bought my first manlike button down shirt, purple on purpose because of gender and also because I associated it with dusk.
Fast forward two decades, I stil go with the default "omg this is awesome" reaction to purple clothing.
