Well honestly, The Dark Knight was a good movie, but it wasn't that great that it should've been winning many prices. 2 Oskars is good for that one, although it was obvious Heath Ledger was going to get the one for supporting actor. Actually all of this years oskars have been pretty predictable, i got 19/24 right (no way i could've known best documentary and the likes, never even seen those).

True Slumdog is overrated, but same as in other years, it was simply the logical choice. Benjamin button was just too mediocre in any but the technical aspects. The truely great movies never get mentioned in the Oscars anyway, so who cares about these...

Howabout the award for best host ever: Hugh Jackman?  I adored the musical numbers. I want them on DVD beside Busby Berkeley on my shelf.

Agree on the singing part. And at least he was able to make the jokes work, Ellen DeGeneres was a disaster in 2007. ^^

I think Slumdog Millionaire. Is extremely overrated I watched 15 minutes of it and walked out the cinema couldn't understand a word they where saying and just thought it was pointless. My view may change when it comes out on dvd and I can use subtitle however whether I put it on my rental list is another thing!

I also didn't think Tropic Thunder was very good either. It was a real let down, I would have thought it would have been funnier.

Always positive Jay

I think it's a pretty good movie, not good enough to win the best film of the year, but i saw that coming. and it was a lot better than Chicaco in 2003. That movie I just couldn't stand (as most movies with Renee Zellweger XD ).

Jay you should've stayed, actually all the important sentences got translated on screen (not in subtitles). They just didn't translate the first 15 minutes to put you into contact with the characters displayed.
Other than that, if you really watched the first 15 minutes, you couldn't possibly have left. I mean that first sequence is just amazing with the cuts, music and camera it uses. (maybe it's just me, but i really liked that) I could smell the Oskars were going to that movie right then.
