Title: Clothing and Color
Post by: Genevieve Swann on February 25, 2009, 11:28:30 AM
Do you have a favorite color? Dress, skirts, shoes, etc. Does your mood make a difference? Does it depend on where you're going?

I have worn so many colors, patterns, and styles. I'm partial to blue and black skirts though I wear many patterns and colors. I like camisoles and blouses of all colors. My favorites are pink, purple, black, lime green, and turquoise. I am looking to add gray to my wardrobe. I generally wear black low heels and flats. However, I have blue flats also. I need to do some shoe shopping.

I was wondering how many liked pink. Gray actually looks good over pink. Like a gray jacket over a pink blouse looks. Good. I have too many shoes (23 pair), if you can ever have to many shoes.

Hi Genevieve. Pink is my femme color. Match it with gray is excellent. You can wear any color or pattern with gray, black, or white.

I do at times. It's usually what blouse or cami I want to wear.

Me also and the brightest is good because it probably prevents me from getting run over in crosswalks. It's probably my favorite. Genevieve

Pink is ok, I'm really specific about what shade it is etc. Purple was always what felt most natural to me.

Purple combined with some lavender is very pretty. I owned a purple dress with a lavender sash once. Lost it in a involuntary purge. I saw lady once with purple contact lenses. It scared me so bad I nearly had a bladder control problem.

I haven't had a chance to get a lot of stuff, but I've always gone for cooler tones...like solid blues, reds, stuff like that.

I avoid pink, yellow, and anything pastel.

I've yet to experiment with purple, but I'll bet it looks good on me.

Anyway, I've always color coordinated and had a good sense of style, even though I don't actively follow fashion.  Every day I realize how much I've deluded myself into thinking I'm a guy...

I have one fushia dress that is very pretty. Following fashion is fun to watch. But like the weather it will change. Fashion also repeats itself. If I had saved all of the worn out denim guys jeans I had from the early seventies there would have been a fortune in rags.

I prefer pastels -- pale blue, lilac, pink, and so on. Black is fine for shoes and purses, and white is okay for blouses, but otherwise I avoid them. "Little black dresses" are cute, but they're not my favorite. I also avoid bright or saturated colors like red, navy, green, etc.

And I agree with Genevieve: Pink and gray go well together, as in a pink blouse with a gray skirt & jacket.

Oh yes, I do go for black skirts with bright jewel-tone tops, at least occasionally.

I beleive best for me are browns and beige. For some reason it looks better. I guess everyong must have colors that just seem to look better on them even though they may not favorite colors. Sometimes I like pastel colors because they look feminine. Genevieve

I like any shade of purple. I fell in love with the color last fall. I purchased a purple 3/4 sleeve blouse.

Large black band shirts and huge black Tripp pants

They make me look a lot more masculine than if I were to wear men's jeans or men's button-down shirts (though I wear those on special occasions, I recently have been looking at suits for myself as well)

I love black and purple and I love wearing lace panties and a push up bra under a blouse and skirt with black heels.

Never occurred to me. A Black dress with a purple belt or sash and purple heels would look nice. The shoes may be hard to find but possible.

Black can be worn with any color or accessory.

I don't have any particular color choices, but I do look better in solid colors than in prints. No dark brown though, but tan and caffe-latte are nice.   Ruffle front or ruffled neckline blouses are fun to wear.  I also have a weakness for lace and velvet.  Velvet in the darker colors is so sexy teal, kelly green, red, black ---.  Any lace is nice.  Skirts are any length, depending on my mood and the weather, pants outfits are wide leg, especially at the shoe line.

OK, my closet is nearly more female than male!!!   (one more outfit to go!)  Shoes have to go with the outfit!!!!!!  I own two pair of male shoes---I frequently have to really dig for them! ???

I also dont have any colour choice, maybe dark colours before a lighter colour

I perfer skirts to pants, actually I just own skirts. I dont own a pair of female pants. although I have been eyeing a pair of womans jeans, they would look good with my black heel boots

My skirts can be any length, do have the legs for a mini.

Shoes, I love boots, (must have a heel) I love heels, it makes me feel more femine.

Noleen-- Look for a pair of "used" denim pants that have been re worked with rhinestone or faceted "gems".  I have a pair that were cut off at the top of my black knee high boots, OOOHHHHH are they fun to wear!!  Mine are white, and for as old as I am, my back seat and upper leg are in great shape.

oo Vicky

That does sound like fun to wear.

One thing I do want to wear when it is warmer, is mini skirt with heeled sandals. My legs are my best asset and I want to show them off.

I just need the courage to go out in public dressed as a woman. THis will be my first summer cross dressing.

Black and Silky are the best for me!  Don't know why but I like the naughty feel of black heels and panties...

I think you would look fantastic in either pink or blue blouse and a black or - what I've seen recently are chocolate  or light grey skirt. I've also come across some very feminine double layered skirts quite cheap in K-Mart (Australia)  the fit is great and they have a beautiful hang and swirl. They are a white background with very pretty flowerly like inserts. OK I'll have to take a pic. Where is Roger Vandim when you need him

I don't know the USA shops but ...

Don't know what your legs are like gorgeous but high heels and skirts kill me :-*

LoL

I consider topical fashion colors of course.
However, I myself have made the experience that I can conceal my size of 1.93 m better with darker colours.
Dark tones in blue, Red, lilac up to black...............................

Blues and purples, mostly. Some dark reds (like burgundy) and pink to an extent, too.
