Title: Telling MY family.
Post by: krptcmschfmkr128 on March 01, 2009, 12:54:36 AM
So, today I was confronted with Landon, my FTM bf's biggest fear. My mom. He's been worried about my family finding out, and then therefore not accepting it and things being awkward when they meet.

Apparently, last night she was browsing around my myspace (Yeah, my mom has a myspace lol) and stumbled across Landon's. One main thing confused her, and that was that Landon's myspace still says 'female' as he's still in the process of getting on T, telling everyone, etc, so he's not comfortable changing it yet. After seeing that, my mom confronted me this morning to ask what exactly was up. I explained everything, and though she seemed a little... surprised by the revelation, she was very accepting of it, just wanting me to be happy above everything else.

It was a huge weight from my shoulders to get this part of who I'm with out to her, as we aren't normally one for secrets from each other. Now the fun part. Telling her about the wedding... :D I think I'll wait til after we've signed the license for that.  :eusa_shifty:

Lol my mom's the best. I told him she'd understand when/if she ever found out, but  he didn't believe me. So it wasn't something I was actively pursuing on doing for his peace of mind. I agreed to let things go 'naturally' per se, and it went fine. :D

Awesome news!  Congrats. :) Me and my girlfriend went through that kind of fear when it was time to tell my mom, too.. but it went so well.  So well, in fact, that the moon probably fell out of the sky for a few seconds. ;D Just goes to show sometimes the things you fear most turn out the best. :)
