Today was a triple whammy. First, I saw a local doctor, and despite my lowered expectations because it was just a general practitioner I was seeing, I got my T refill, and she even wants to help me with labs and whatnot while I'm out here!
When I got back home, my mom asked if I'd been prescribed anti-depressants (why I went to the doc initially). I told her I'd gotten on T, that I'd been on it before and it had helped me a lot with depression, pain and mood swings from PMDD, and whatnot. It's been over a year since I went on T initially, and since then, I had been terrified to talk to my mom about it, considering how she's been with my whole transition. Contrary to my suspicions, she was great about it! She may even help me pay for the scrip, which is incredible.
Third thing... I filed my federal income taxes, expecting somewhere around $150 refund, and found out I qualify for earned income credit... making my total refund almost $600! I had been counting on using some of the money for T and using the rest for my legal name change, but now it turns out I can actually get binders and whatever else I desperately need. God... this is amazingly welcome financial help after so long without money.
I feel incredible right now... just wanted to share the glad tidings.

If you have friends like some of mine don't tell too many people or they will need to borrow. Extra cash, new things!
Congrats!
We won't talk about how much I OWE the IRS...hazards of selling a business, I guess...

Yeah, I guess there are a couple advantages to making next to no money. An update: my mom has been really cool, still, about the T thing. She is going to buy it for me tomorrow, so I'm psyched about getting back on it. She's been a lot better about the whole trans thing recently, and with talking about it... which is incredible. Now I'm kinda wishing I'd been more honest with her earlier.
