Title: Shaving
Post by: xxaussiexx on March 03, 2009, 10:57:23 PM
Hey guys,

I wanted some advice.  Without even being on T by body already produces quite a bit more body hair than normal.  I get a considreable amount under my chin and some facial hair.  Im not out as such at work or anything but i wanted to know if it would be a problem if i started to shave?  Would it be really noticeable?  I plan on ttransitioning at work this year so maybe get a headstart, i dont know..
Thanks

nah, it's no problem at all to start now.  as for it being noticeable, that depends how much hair you currently have.  it's not uncommon for women to remove facial hair caused by PCOS or menopause, so don't stress it.  chances are, no one will notice.

I actually had tests done for PCOS but they were all negative so that wasnt the cause.  Still too young for menopause, lol (20yrs old).  I use to stress about but i was actually hoping that it would be a bit more noticeable seeing as i already have a bit that some more would come through.

i'm nto saying those are the only two reasons why women get facial hair, i'm just saying that they're two examples.  you could just be hairy.  we are mammals.

Not me, I'm a reptile....

But yeah, nobody will comment, lots of women shave to get rid of excess facial hair. I have a friend who has a most enviable beard, and she shaves daily at least. (She's not as happy about having it as I would be.)

I have PCOS and have to shave to get rid of a lot of facial hair. No one really notices or says anything. I have to shave because I am not out at work or to my family. But I think if you shave and keep up with it and keep it clean no one will ever notice or say anything. Just think once you do come out at work you will have a head start when it comes to growing in facial hair.

-shrugs- I know a girl who supposedly has facial hair and shaves. Then again, it's only a rumour and not many people like her, so it could just be a lie, but it's possible.

They say shaving makes the hairs grow back thicker. Not sure if there's any truth in that, but if you're worried about it being noticeable, you could always try hair removal creams or bleach. They work pretty well. Just make sure you get the kind for facial hair, or it'll seriously burn your skin. Learned that the hard way...
