I hate to say it, but obesity causes lower testosterone levels in males in general. It's why a lot of obese guys end up having softer facial bone structures. I hate to say it, but it may be adviseable to... Overeat through middle and high school - or at least until you can transition. Then, once you start the hormones, go on a super-diet and lose the weight.
Just figured you girls might want to know.
Then you also have to worry about stretch marks etc...
diets don't work for a reason.
Overeating and pigging out on fats and sugars can cause worse than just obesity. It can give you diabetes, liver damage, heart problems, etc. etc. etc..
Is that really worth risking your life for a "slight" difference in testosterone levels?
Wow... worst advice this century..... a new first here...
*shrugs* Well it's mostly that I thought it was interesting. Also, just saying in general that it might be advisable not to starve yourself like a lot of people do, but to be a bit on the heavier side (though not explicitly obese). Not saying like.. Be 300 pounds at 5'4" or something... Geez. Most of the reason I posted it was because I thought it was interesting. I was also assuming that if anyone was to do this, they'd be somewhat responsible. I mean there's overweight enough to get a benefit for, say, puberty years, and then there's being Jabba the Hutt. The latter is where it starts getting really unhealthy. Most TG people are vastly underweight, so at the least this would promote normalizing their body weight in general as it would stop a lot of the motivation to starve (the "I've got to get a skinny body to look feminine" concept that works in the short run) themselves. I'm not advising any BMI over 30 or anything like that, just one that's barely in the overweight category, or in the upper end of the normal weight category would probably be beneficial. Again, though, most of the reason I posted it was because I thought it was interesting. Let's not freak out, OK?
lmao @ this thread
is this the humor section???
There's no need to be such dicks about it. Honestly... I wasn't expecting such a troll-like reaction.
Look - here's what I figured when I posted this. I saw a program on TV that covered this (and other things) and how the bone structure of overweight/obese men were more feminine than in skinnier ones (I then picked up the first relevant article on google and posted it here). Particularly in the face. Now, I figured that you can lose weight, and the only way you can change your facial bones is with expensive surgery. If this can put you that little bit over the top, then hey - all the more power to you. At the VERY least I thought it was interesting, which is the primary reason I posted it. Maybe a "well I prefer being skinny" or a "that's interesting" at most, then a dead thread. Didn't expect to be ridiculed. Whatever, sure as hell not coming back HERE.
Or just start hrt earlier if you're going out to do this much planning...
As for calling transwomen dicks... do you want to get lynched? lol
Could we possibily tone things down a little. I prefer civil debates.

Aside from the funnies, and the anger, this isnt wise... the health problems are significant... and this is not a case of being 'slightly' overweight, it would have to be significant, and this sort of museing could come to the attention of young impressionalbe kids who want anything to transition... and could end up with serious health problems thanks to advice like this. Obeasity and weight problems in the teen years set you up for a life of issues.... its the formative years damn it.... your body cant deal with it and recover properly. If you are that set to do this to save your features, get a therapist, talk, and get hrt or blockers... same job, MUCH safer and all round easier to transition...
I was obese when I was younger and I think that's had a pretty major impact on how I developed (and not just my facial bone structure). I wouldn't advise anyone plan to be obese though.
The facial bone structure just looks different in overweight men because the fat rounds things out. If they lose weight, their face goes back to looking as hardened as fit men.
Gilthoniel has a point, ill-advised though actually going through with it may be. Fat cells actually produce estrogen from testosterone, which has a significant effect on puberty. For better or worse I was a fat kid, only really starting to do anything about it when I was 16 or 17, and yeah, as far as T damage, it definitely helped me compared to other people my age, and in my own family - my brother is 4 years younger than I am, but even before I started transition, people thought he was the eldest by an average of 5 or 6 years.
So yeah, I wouldn't recommend it, cause the worst long-term problems I've found have been joint problems - knees and hips, you'll end up with disordered eating, and unless you're gonna go uber-healthy and give your body a chance to repair compromised respiratory and circulatory systems you'll have those to deal with too, but as far as delaying puberty, it works.

I don't know. One has only to look at obese women with beard shadows to see it's not all about estrogen.
A Far better advice is...
Eat Soy Products!
That's right, processed soy contains a chemical that behaves like estrogen in human beings.
If you're down for doing something SO unhealthy then you might as well take t-blockers without a prescription. It'd probably be a safer and more aesthetically pleasing alternative.
And for the record, I know plenty of rail thin boys who look quite feminine. The overweight ones don't really look feminine to me, they just look, well, overweight.

Far better than to eat fat and sugar in excessive amounts!
I'm not fond of soy either. I was lactose intolerant for some time and was dieing for a coffee with real milk in it. Lactose free milk is ok but it just does not taste the same, soy was definitly out of the question.
I imagine it is something you could get used to though, and where would we be without soy sauce? But would it be worth the effort? I think not.

Joke aside from me
the advice offered by the thread starter is ill informed, Mina you do have a point but to balance it out perhaps you should also quote the effect Testosterone has to combat any natural E produced by males let alone the devastating effects its byproduct DHT has...very little causes a lot of masculisation.
A very anecdotal thread.
really? this is your advice? get fat? you might as well drop people off on felix spector's doorstep. it's probably safer.
