Title: Came Out to My Dad
Post by: Jamie-o on March 05, 2009, 05:29:14 PM
Actually, my mom told him before I had a chance to. (Read: Before I got up the courage to.)  So I wrote him a letter to explain my feelings a little further, and to assure him that I had really thought this through.

He's taking it really well, actually.  He's concerned that it won't live up to my expectations, and that I will regret it, but mostly he says that he wants me to be happy, and he'll respect any decision I make.  I have to give him props, as well, for changing gears so quickly.  Aparently, he said to my mom, "If I want any sort of relationship with my daughter, I mean, my child, I'll have to accept it."  We'll see if he ever comes around to son, but hey, at least he's trying.

Jamie (Feeling very relieved.)
