Hello, my name is James. I am 21 and identify as male. Due to many issues, including not being accepted, I am in desperate need to leave my home. My problem is that I'm having difficulty finding a place that will take me in and will help me to begin the transition. I live about 20 miles south of Washington, D.C. and wondering if anyone here knows of a place that can help me out. Please, I'm desperate to leave because I can't stand my current body any longer and really need the help.
Thank you,
James
Are you just trying to find a more accepting culture? I've been to Norfolk Va. There were some good people there. Virginia is close by. I've been to some bad citites in my life. Panama city,Panama. Tegucigalpa, Honduras. South Chicago. Washington D.C. is by far the worst. Anywhere may be better than DC. Any metropolis without too much violence is probably good. Wish you the best of luck, Genevieve
No, I mean I'm trying to leave my parents' home because they don't accept me and won't let me start to transition. Because of my health, I can't afford to work and therefore don't have any money to move. I need to find a place that helps me find a place to live and to begin transitioning.
Not sure how much this will help, but if your health is preventing you from attaining and maintaining a form of income, you might look into getting social security disability income. There are quite a few government programs designed to help people who can't work for one reason or another, and while they won't necessarily pay as well as a full-time job would, it would likely be enough for you to live outside of your parents' home.

You say 20 mi south of DC. Are you on the MD side of the river near Waldorf or the VA side near Lorton?
