I've started HRT, and I'm very happy about it. :) Naturally, I didn't notice anything at first, but about a month in, I woke up one morning and I had breasts. Okay, they're tiny, hardly noticeable, but they are there, and I could hardly be more happy. I've long wondered how large they will grow, considering my age and the figures of the women in my family, and then Zythyra posted a link (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,57463.0.html) to a Monica Robert's blog entry containing the following claim:

I've never seen such a clear statement as that; for example the Wiki here makes the rather weak claim, "MtF who undergo HRT often experience breast development which is below the comparable natal female norm." Well, that's no surprise -- the same is true for natal females!
So what are your experiences?
It is actually hard to state whether or not I fit the typical claim. I am adopted and don't know what the women in my family were like. But my ( adopted) Mom was a size D and I am a B.
But I am still hopeful for a C at least.

My mom is a B, I'm about an A after 13 months on oestrogen and before that about 10 months on AA's.
Mina.
after 12 months I've made it to almost a B cup. i hear it takes 2-5 years to see full results.

lol Have a nice summer! (because unless "pre-disposed" and "very committed" with "no young kids" this may very well be your last "topless" one for a while?) ;D
Omg

your post count has been creeping back up, your the only person i know whos post number goes down i suggest you get trimming :P
so many opinions on this subject, do not expect anything and just accept what you get. For the record i am bigger than my mum so the average thing went out of a window there
Well, I've been on HRT full time since '92. My breasts are now pretty much the same size they were after the first year. That's an A cup, always liked small breasts anyway so I'm happy with the way they are. :)

Itd be nice but not true the majority of the time due to the larger size of the chest walls & bone structure in natal males. Asian & Hispanic peeps get lucky because they're smaller than other races by nature & thus don't have any problems like us tall, big boned girls.

Well, unfortunately, because of my transition, I can't really ask my mom because she's really not wanting to talk to me. :( Even if I was on better terms with her, how do you do that? "Hey, mom, what's your bra size?" Talk about uncomfortable!
However, best guess is I'm a little smaller. That being said, I've only been on hormones 10 months and I haven't been on progesterin at all (not yet, anyway).
I have no clue what size my mom is, or was at my age - and I have no sister.
One grandma was unremarkable and the other, IIRC, was pretty sizable.
Big is not the be-all and end-all. I like 'em small myself and I think a lot of guys do, they just don't talk about it. In fact really big ones are kind of a turn off for me.
For me it's "perky" and that's mainly small and medium size ones that have that characteristic.

I agree Alex, that's why I said about my mum, lol. Wouldn't want to be that big thank you and it can cause back and neck problems because of the weight that is carried in front.

I'm not looking to have DD's myself, although I don't particularly have a preference for large versus small myself. But let's just say that most women I know who complain about the small size of their breasts have bigger breasts than I do. I give thanks every day for the God who created the deisgners of the padded push-up bra.
