Two policemen's lives "cannot get any lower" after privacy breach convictions for telling a man his girlfriend used to be a male and he had been "rooting a bloke".

Their lawyer, Joe Klarica, says the convictions will result in loss of their jobs, one had already lost his marriage and both had suffered public humiliation.

But Fleur Sullivan, for the crown, reminded Magistrate Glenn Bartley he had found the officers' motivation for telling Garrick Jacobson his girlfriend had been a male had been to embarrass and humiliate him.

Zoe Brain (http://aebrain.blogspot.com/2009/04/christian-democratic-party.html)
has another angle on this story:

There's a group that's defending the actions of the cops and the boyfriend, and blaming the victim...

QuoteReverend the Hon. FRED NILE: I ask the Attorney General, and Minister for Justice:

· Is it a fact that transsexual Brigitte Fell had a sexual relationship with Garrick Jacobson without informing him that he had undergone a sex change?

· Is it an offence under section 61I of the Crimes Act to have sexual relations with a person without their informed consent?

· Is it a fact that Constables Tyrone Stacey and Brendan Ritson allegedly informed Mr Jacobson of this crime and subsequently were charged with a breach of privacy?

· Will the Attorney General take action to have the charges against Constables Stacey and Ritson reviewed and dropped?

There is a logical conclusion to this line of reasoning. If it is a crime to have sexual relations without revealing your prior gender status, then it is equally a crime to have sexual relations without revealing your marital status, status of, or lack of, any STI tests, sexual orientation, and whether the individual is a virgin or not. One hopes that the reverend Nile has always been in compliance with this section of the crimes act in all of his sexual relationships.

"In his police interview, Jacobson said the information put him over the edge, leading him to break into Ms Fell's unit and attack her, saying "I'm going to smash you"."

And, leave it to a fricking reverend to come up with that other idiocy.

It's a wonderful world.

This is my personal opinion only

The Rev Fred Nile is a politican in Sydney Aus. He also leads a fundamentalist religous group that claim to be Christian. He is a bigot that has power. He is homophobic, and amusingly prays for rain on the Sydney GLTG Mardi Gras. Because of the way politics is in Australia, as an independent he is a power broker with the major parties who have to make deals with him to get policy through parliment. The deals are usally to suit his personal beliefs.

What the police did is totally disgusting. What the Rev Fred Niles does is just immoral.

Why do these creatures rise to powerful positions?
