So I finally took the big leap of setting up an appointment to start therapy, which is the first time discussing this issue not over the internet. There's a local gender clinic (literally 10 minutes away) that follows the Harry Benjamin standards and so on, and I've scheduled an 'intake appointment' for next Monday. I guess that will be an initial thing where they figure out exactly what your situation is and then set you up with what you need, and apparently it's going to last about 2 1/2 hours.
I was pretty nervous on the phone... the person on the other end ended up being a guy, which immediately made me want to hold back (long habit), but I figured if he was working at the LGBTQ center/gender clinic then I didn't have that much to worry about. Had to call a bunch of times to get through to the customer service dept, but apparently they only have two people on the phones.
So yes, it's actually starting to happen. Really nervous and excited.
Congrats hon!

'hon' hmm... That's new and will take some getting used to. I kind of like it.
I'll definitely let everyone know how it goes... Monday seems so far away, agh!
Congrats!!! I hope it all goes great!!!
congrats!
Congratulations,
...and don't worry about it, as you are in control of what you discuss, and not them.
Two and a half hours does seems very long for a first therapy session though, definitely a case for taking a few notes about what you want to talk about. ;)
