On CNN's main page, there is a link where CNN is streaming the murder trial. Right now, they are taking a 10 minute break, but the stream should continue.
thanks!
I watched, and found myself getting more and more annoyed with the defence's tactic of refusing to refer to her as a female and as Angela. It came off, to me, as in poor taste.
I would use a different term than "poor taste" but I don't want to get an 'X' rating. Miss Kitty would fuss at me.
Angela's sister and the defense were clashing about the defense using those terms.
*nod* I quite liked how her sister corrected the defence on her name a couple times and made a point of talking about her using "she" and "angie"...
I wish I could watch but the cable reception in my truck sux.
Could y'all keep those of us without CNN access posted?
If you have high speed internet access, CNN has been streaming the trial.
I don't believe my 3G ISP is fast enough.
I can't find the link, and I've checked out CNN's home page, are they not in session today?
From the recent posts it seems they are.
Thanks for any help, perhaps a link might be prudent and within the TOS?
Poor taste is at the heart of the American legal system. Its a system based on an adversarial situation and it can't be helped.

I don't think the trial is in session today.
They're in recess until monday morning.
Less than 2 hours of deliberation:
Guilty - 1st degree murder
Guilty - Bias Motivated (Hate) Crime
Guilty - Aggravated Auto Theft
Guilty - Identity Theft
Wow. I know nothing will bring Angela back to the people who loved her, or make up for such a young life being taken away so violently. But at least this one murderer is off the streets, and this verdict can't help but send a signal to the world that the lives of trans people matter too.
YES!
I am so glad this idiot is going down.
Under 2 hours? Good luck on appeals, do not pass go, go directly to jail. Lets just hope he gets a harsh sentence, with that kind of verdict he should.
It's currently the main story on CNN as well.

WOW!
CNN just updated it and it tells his sentence...
Judge Marcelo Kopcow then imposed the mandatory sentence for the first-degree murder conviction -- life in prison without parole.
My sincerest of condolences go out to Angie's family and friends.
I am exstatic to see that the good people of Greely have sent a resounding
message to the country that they were not willing to look the other way.
It's not much of a consoulation to her friends or family but as homophobic as
this ------------- is, I hope life without parole is a fate worst than death.
My girl and I watched the closing arguments today. We missed the sentencning for the charge of murder1. My gf is trying to understand my issues with tg. My only surviving parent is concerned something like this might happen to me. The legal rams are, at least, a minor comfort. Remember, practical law is cat and mouse. The winners in such cases are, well,,,.
As said in many threads elsewhere, We all need to be aware, prepared, and able to defend ourselves in the case of such a threat to well being and safety.
There but for the grace of,,,,,,
Blessed Be Angie
If you think that putting one person in jail for murder is going to somehow reduce rates of murder, you haven't seen our crime statistics of late.
Its over, we have another grain of sand to help hold back a massive tidal wave that threatens us daily, but only one grain. Still, it is more than we had before.
