If you had SRS, was revision of some kind necessary or recommended?

I had to have a follow up surgery a couple of weeks after the initial surgery to clear out some dead skin and to resew everything back together. it was outpatient and mainly while i was awake. Not a recommended activity.

YMMV as I had complications from the get go.

I had a labiaplasty about 2months after my srs, just to improve the appearance, the stitches where sore and the itch made me irritable, but Im glad I had it done, it healed well and the result was good, I certainly felt a complete woman.

For those of us who have yet to have SRS, myself included, this would be an excellent post for the ladies to also include who their surgeon was.

Thank you...Mich'

No revisions needed here. I went to Dr. Kamol Pansritum in Bangkok. He doesn't seem to be well known in the States but is very popular with the South American and Asian girls and he does absolutely amazing work! I couldn't be happier!

Thank you ladies for including your surgeon's name with your response.

I had narrowed that far off choice to include Bowers or Suporn. Nice to read that they get the job done right the first time and have great results to boot.

Yes, revision was needed. At 4 months post-op I developed severe granulation, as can happen with any skin graft.

3 attempts by my OB/GYN to cauterise it failed. It would have cost $6,000 to have the lesions surgically excised, and they were loath to do that as the basic surgical result was so good, they didn't want to spoil it.

But... I paid $1500 instead for the airfare and accommodation, and Dr Suporn fixed it for free under his lifetime unlimited warranty.

I lost some of my labia minora, and the lesion at the tip of the neo-vagina didn't heal after cauterisation, so Dr Suporn advised me to let it fuse, losing me an inch of depth.

So I only have a 7.5" depth now.

Dr Suporn says it's the worst result he's had in 2 years, and if I want, he'll do some more cosmesis on the labia. My OB/GYN and GP - who have dealt with about 100 GRS patients between them - still say it's one of the best, most natural results they've ever seen.

Nope no revision necessary.  Dr. Sanguan was my surgeon.

Ditto. Dr. Kunaporn was my surgeon too.  I haven't enough words to thank him for everything he did for my parents and I whilst we were in Phuket.

Another Bowers' girl. ~smile~

So far none needed but I'm not completely healed up yet.  There's still some swelling & bruising going on, especially around the labia majora but I'm getting there slowly.

Yes it was necessary for me.
I had SRS (one stage colovaginoplasty) with Dr. Preecha in 2004:

I had excessive spongy tissue, deviation of urethra and stricture at the junction of skin and colon.
I had my 1st revision in 2007 (i only paid for anesthesia which was about USD$1,000)

The stricture came back so I went back to Thailand this July '09 and had my 2nd revision:
(I didn't pay anything this time)

While they fixed the stricture and gave me more width by altering the labia, i ended up with a deep labial split so I had to see Dr. Simon Ceber in Melbourne for advice after I got back, the split turned into granulation and I have been using cortisone cream which he prescribed, things have healed fine so far and I can dilate with the biggest size.

If I could have gone back in time, I'd have considered Dr. Kunaporn in Phuket or Dr. Heartsch in Sydney.
