Title: Eye Brows
Post by: Chaos_Dagger on May 18, 2009, 10:04:38 PM
Anyway I can get more feminine looking, less bushy, eyebrows?  I mean... with a minimal amount of pain (heh yea right), but more importantly, still be able to pass as a straight male at work lol

You could go get a professional job. Your brows will end up neater.

Most people probably won't notice.

That might work.  My assistant manager said once that he got his done at Carol Baker Visage... plus my manager is a "pretty boy" or thinks he is anyway, and shaves his arms... it could fly

When I first started my transition I tweezed mine. None of the guys noticed but the one other lady in the shop noticed right away. She asked me why I plucked my eyebrows and I told her some lame story about an embarrassing grilling accident.

Well... luckily... or perhaps unluckily... I'm the only "girl" in the store.  It's an all male staff at the moment

No offense to the gentlemen here but most guys are clueless.

*giggles* They usually are.  There's one in the store that I'm positive will never notice anything.  He forgets everything so easily I'm surprised he even makes it to work. I could probably walk into work fully en femme one day and he wouldn't even know it was me

Anyone who begins, 'no offense' intends to offend.  No matter..., as you said, not to offend, but speak for yourself, not for the group.

I'm positive will never notice anything.  He forgets everything so easily

Men only pretend to forget, in truth, we weren't listening to you in the first place.

Hi
Had a similar thread a while back and ended up going professional and explaining the predicament. Nice job.

And yes as Tekla said I have found that most guys ignore my changes but still see them. I think most are gentlemen who respect people. I know that now-a-days that may be a strange concept, but I think it is true. I think my workers don't want to embrass me, and as long as I perform to my high expectations, no issues.
Most guys at work situations, sorry badly stated, in my experience, most guys in work situations will not comment about their female workers look or dress. A new hair do is ignored, same with new clothes. The legal situation just prohibits men from saying anything to a women at work, 'cos she may file for discrimination. At least in Australia.

Maybe some notice and don't say anything. Cindy is right about discrimination. It is the same way in the U.S. Almost any comment to a fellow worker of the opposite gender can be missinterpreted as discrimination. By the way, I just pluck my brows. Happiness sometimes comes with a little pain.

I think most are gentlemen who respect people.

It could happen I guess.  But I think for the most part they just don't care.  And why should they?

There is an old cowboy song that has in its chorus a line that might as well be the motto of the American West in many respects, "It's your misfortune and none of my own."  Or, in more contemporary language, "It sucks to be you."  Once you get past yourself, one of the first things you find out is how little what other people do really matters.

Too true and how little they notice most anything about you. :) However other women will notice eyebrows. Get them done professionally and expect about a year of once or twice a month waxing to get them in shape. Make sure to have them trimmed for thickness as well.

Altho most waxers will do that without your asking. But if they don't do.

And why are TS women most especially so down on guys? Nevermind, a different thread I suppose.

I think they are just down on themselves as being guys, not on guys in general, unless they still feel bad about never being 'part of the pack' or whatever, which, when you read their posts you'll find out that was not a pack decision, but a personal one.

But, back to the topic...

I think that all the time when I read the "OMG I passed today" threads.  Like, did you really think everyone was doing nothing but paying attention to you all the time?  Did you really think that most of them would, could, or should care?  I mean, really, aren't you aware that most people walk around just as self-absorbed as you are and really don't notice squat?

Just because that person walking down the street did not call you out on it - is that because your such a god awesome Tgrl/boi, or just because they are worried about their 401K, or their kids behavior problems, or if they should hit on that hot new person at work, or are on drugs, or have some mental problem that does not allow them to really see the world as it really is?

Why can't the rest of the world be just as out of it as most of us are all the time?

I'm down on men in general for various reasons that has nothing to do with my predicament... however I won't get into that.  As for the guy pretending to forget? Hell no.  This one honestly has a memory span the size of a peanut.

He's 54 years old, and claims that has a child he had meningitis that screwed with his memory.  He forgets our managers name... I surprised he remembers mine.

I tweeze often kinda a compulsion, I have always had rather thin brows but here lately I have really trimmed them up, very fem, and yes only the other women will say or ask anything, I said I can't stand a unibrow and that's what I would have if I didn't tweeze, there answer, OH OK I wish I could get my husband to do that.....

OK, ya wanna start a nice thread about blow-jobs then go right ahead! But I won't be starting one. As long as it doesn't get to the point of violating the TOS. :) How's that? More to the point, can you do it?

I'd have to read them first, and that's going to be a cold day in hell.

Remember kids, how can they hold you to the rules if you've never read them?

It's done on an almost daily basis around here, tekla. And i'm sure you're aware that previous strayings by you have been modified, deleted and otherwise moderated whether or not you've read the TOS. :)

Well I'm sure that if I were to write on such a topic it would be lewd, obscene, dirty, vile, gross, depraved, and disgusting.  Otherwise, you're not doing it right.

I'm reasonably certain, friend, that you are truthful to a fault in this matter.   Which is why I questioned your ability to "do it" on this board. Ypur ability to "do it" in general I have no such doubts about! Perhaps you may wish to keep that to PMs to those you find are interested in that discussion or to other boards that are not monitored for that sort of thing. :)

Getting back to the original subject ...

I've taken my eyebrows from one step short of Andy Rooney style wild and bushy to trimmed and thin (but not necessarily feminine) and nobody has commented.  Now this process was also over a short period of time, so it wasn't just one drastic change and that may be why nobody's said anything (even though I know a few have noticed).

My objective right now is not to stand out in a crowd  ;D

Mine are not really a problem, they thinned out and you can hardly notice them. Now, my aunt she was a 1950's starlet. Oh, she had a killer look and she painted her eyebrows; because, she could not stand any hair. From what I heard, she plucked them all out at at the age of 15.

I have had my eyebrows done many time full arches in full gender neutral dress mode and I have never had anyone come and ask me about why I do so.

I honestly believe that most people just don't care about what you do with your life. If they do care then chances are they are just looking for something nitpick or are insecure and only find security in harassing someone they feel is abnormal.

I totaly agree with you, albeit I could show up in full girl mode and as long as I meet the female dress code for uniformed officers no one would say a thing in fear of sexual harrassment charges and that's working for big brother
